I think I'm going to buy:

LG 7kg Direct Drive F1456QD Washing Machine Freestanding White £387

I have a depth available of 57.2cm, so this 7Kg load machine at 55cm will fit nicely, whereas the slightly bigger 8kg load machines are mostly 60cm depth and will stick out.

Does anyone have any final comments as I'm going to buy shortly.

I think that is made in China.

The LG's that are made in Korea generally have a silver door finish.

My laptop's made in China and that's been OK

The silver door finish models tend to be 60cm deep and I've got to fit a 57cm depth, so it might have to be Chinese made!

We bought a hotpoint 7 year's ago and its still going strong 7kg and 1600 rpm spin it was £230 and all we could afford at the time, we just bought a Bosch condensing dryer for £299 and the quality is great

Hotpoint WMF940P Washing Machine - Got one recently and it's been fantastic, 9Kg load helps a lot with a baby too and the clothes come out near dry even on the 1400rpm spin. Only downside is that most programs (other than 60min one) take a long time, although you can see how long on the LED panel and set it for a delay anyway.
