Wasp nest

leave em, they will go away in a couple of months. Unless they keep stinging you?

I was putting the bin out last week and got stung, hurt quite abit and my arm felt odd for a few hours. I haven't been stung for years before this. Wasps only attack if you attack them and I put my hand on it.

You can get spray, powder and foam to sort 'em out. Had one in the garden shed recently, lobbed a load of powder over it and ran like hell. Worked.

I'm not advising it, but a mate of mine had a massive wasp nest in his garden shed. We nuked the buggers with a CO2 fire extinguisher.

You would have to locate the underground lair first though, in order to pinpoint the strike location. Plus the resulting local damage from such munitions would be massive - the liquid fire option is superior I think, and will acheive the highest fatality rate

I got bloody stung by a wasp the other week at 4 in the morning !

It flew in and landed on the bed i rolled over onto it and BANG !

I remember reading in a book by Lawrence Hills on organic gardening that an effective way to destroy wasps nests in gardens is to mow the lawn, retain the mowings, wait until dusk when the wasps return to their nests and then pile the mowings many inches deep on top of the opening. He states that the heat generated from the mowings will draw the oxygen from the nest and suffocate the wasps.

If you live near me I’ll let you mow my lawn for nothing and you can keep the mowings!

I had a wasps nest in my loft when I moved in. I was doing some decorating and removed something that left a hole leading to the loft, got up next morning and there were wasps in the front room. I sprayed a little fly/wasp spray into the hole and generally around it to keep them coming through, they all left that day.

Very true, but we'll take the American approach and use an oil drum sized payload. Therefore, "pinpointing" is time consuming and unnecessary.
