Wasps seem to have built a nest in the gap in a stud wall in a shed in the back yard. There's a procession of them entering and exiting. Its location is such that its out of the way and not too close to door to house. They seem to be doing their own thing and i just noticed it by chance so they could have been there for ages.

What should i do?

use a hose and spray the nest and keep your distance by about 30 feet at least
position the hose if can and turn on from a very safe distance they will attack anyone thats in the vicinity or call in the pro's.

The OcUK for dealing with Wasps

1) Send them back

2) Punch them in the ovaries

3) Burn it with Fire

4) Nuke it from orbit

5) RTM them

This order:

5 for a warning, then try 1 by: 2, falling back and using 3 and then falling back further and 4.

Or just by wasp nest powder, spray, run. Leave.

When I was younger me and a few friends used to set wasp nests on fire, normally using lighter fluid and lynx cans +10 layers of clothing.

The hose idea is the easiest tho.

Call the council and tell them. They should be able to send a pest control person round to sort it.

Failing that, you may actually have to pay someone.

Don't poke it or anything, unless you really like being stung.

grab the biggest power tool you own and stab it, failing that grab the biggest piece of cutlery you own and stab it.....then burn it.
