Wasps :(

Whilst not a solution to killing the nest I have always found windolene will disable them sufficiently. (It eats through their wings)

Pest control mate. Get it sorted out properly.

I've tried pretty much everywhere, my last resort is Rentokil who are supposed to be ringing me back within 24 hours (and probably charging me the earth).

Just have to stay out of the living room for the night I guess. :(

OcUK wouldn't be the same without a Nigerian lurking about :p

I can get that from homebase or something right? Does it need to go in the hole? i.e. if I unblock the hole this idiot sealed up can I just give it a squirt up there, the nest is probably going to be fairly inaccessable without removing a few bricks.

Yeah Homebase should have such stuff in their pest control area.

I'd see if you can get to the Doctors and get an Eppi pen prior to further action.

IMO unblocking the blocked hole is tantamount to suicide. And if you are planning to do so please make sure your will is up to date.

You will have to read the wasp powder instructions (probably prior to purchase to make sure it is the right stuff) and find wherever the wasps are coming out, then spray that area with it But make sure you are well covered with thick clothing and maybe several areas. Have as little flesh as possible visible and keep your pregnant missus well away (get a mate to hold your eppi pen)

IIRC wasps always have a sentry by the openings of their nests so if you pick a fight they will retaliate. (one wasp hovering in the same place will indicate where the nest entrance is)

I did adviced him to wrap up though  I wasnt trying to be funny or anything like that, i said what came to my mind.

OP, please star out you swearies and call a pesterminator. :)

You need to get your grammar sorted mate.

Back on topic, call in pest control.

Do you know exactly where the nest is? Is it under the damp proof lining or just under the floorboards? How far from the edge of the house is it? That might determine what you can get away with.

I'm not 100% sure, Wife said there was a small hole underneath the front door, the living room is adjacent to it and there's like a wooden box thing covering the pipes to the radiator near the window, they all appear to be escaping from in there at the moment, there must be 20 or so dead ones on the window sill and another 10-20 live ones crawling/flying around.

I did eventually get hold of probably the only local pest control service we have and he's apparently on his way down, not holding my breath though.

As Boss Hogg would say "GOOD NEWS!", the chap turned up, drilled out the nest, wanged a load of white powder up and told us to reseal the hole tomorrow night when they're all dead.

Thanks to everyone who contributed (something worthwhile)
