Wasteland ARMA II Mos : Server Details

Make sure your 3d resolution is set to the same as your interface resolution.

Disable Post-Processing effects. Makes it look like arse.

Put shadow detail to High/Very High as this makes the gpu do the crunching instead of the CPU. Same for Video Memory.

Set HDR to normal too.

Download this beta patch if you want to play on our Wasteland server.

If you want help with Wasteland, join TS in the first post and we can help you out! You will also need ACR Lite which is available for free - http://www.arma2.com/index.php?option=com_rokdownloads&view=file&Itemid=20&id=805

Yeah I already done the beta patch and installed ACR Lite and joined the server last night, and I think I've changed most of those settings bar the shadow detail but it still felt a little jerky in places.

I'll jump on TS on tonight maybe, if not then tomorrow hopefully.

Set video memory to default,it then uses the full amount on your card.

The very high setting only uses 512 of vram.

Will do cheers.

Anyone any tips on getting into this,

Bought Arma 2:CO on the Steam sales today and have ran through bootcamps etc to get to grips with everything and jumped on the server for a quick 5 minutes.

Anyone recommend any video settings to get the game running a bit smoother?

Wasteland isn't supported on day z commander yet so add an armaOA shortcut to desktop right click properties add to end of target line (and remember there's a space before the first -)

-nosplash -world=<string> -skipIntro -maxMem=2047 -maxVRAM=2047 -cpuCount=4 -noPause

Also whilst in game select video memory as "default" because high is only 1.5gb

also i'd add these lines in day z commander additional launch parameters in settings remember to add a space before -

-nosplash -world=<string> -skipIntro -maxMem=2047 -maxVRAM=2047 -cpuCount=4 -noPause

I reckon the jerkiness it's either because you aren't running arma2oa exe with the correct startup parameters or the latest patch has some issues but yea servers can lag

Definitely playing this to much. Had a dream last night that there was a zombie apocalypse probably due to watching The Walking Dead S3. Anyway I was with a good group of people including the GF, we made shelter in a large complex but were attacked by another group that overrun us.

Me and the girlfriend found a M113 APC(tank) which we ran to for cover but there was the bug that meant we couldn't get in at the same time and then I died :(

Go outside CAI! Please!

It is horrible and miserable outside :( damn weather! Preparing myself for the big move on Monday. Probably going have to clean the old flat on Sunday and then be moving **** all day Monday to the new place.

Just hope Sky don't mess up transferring me to the new flat :)

This is a launcher that I use that will help you configure Arma, It does the things that C64 talks about and more..

Cheers this is more what I had in mind for setting up/tweaking only had a quick look late last night and only seen a few suggestions for config/ini tweaks but this seems a lot better.

Also is there any issues with crossfire?

Haven't tried it in Arma yet and had it disabled last night when I was playing

Also another question if anyone knows,

Is there any forced mouse acceleration as I have turned my sensitivity down as low as it goes and it still feels too quick

I've read this game suffers from negative mouse acceleration. Some steps to aid in mouse movement are to disable Vsync it also aids performance.

Turn mouse smoothing off and open the cfg files (ArmA2OA.cfg) in your documents folder and change GPU_MaxFramesAhead and set it to GPU_MaxFramesAhead=1;

Haha...

Zane is a good guy, he has been on the server for days now..

Good video, shame it was a waste of a LB..

Yeah he's good to have about. Full of comedy! He said he was talking to you guys.

We'll be on this afternoon and then we'll have a clan of us tomorrow from midday til late.
