It was never going to live up to the hype.

o trust me you are not alone in feeling that way. The games had a fair bit of backlash with the graphics downgrade/delay. The news of a movie deal/sequels already being in the works also massively put me off and honestly makes me want to see it fail. So much hype for what looks like a fairly average game to me.

So many red flags about this game. I don't know what to think anymore.
I personally think it is a modern day derivative of AC with hacking instead of parkour. Not a gaming revolution.
Anyone think that ******** video is on 360? The streets look fairly sparsely populated and the effects look fairly limited.

I dont understand this policy neither, its always going to paint the game in a poor light even if its good. How confident is the publisher in their product if they wait til release day to allow reviews to be published?
Its led me to be very choosy about what I pre-order - I cancel heck of a lot more nowadays

Exactly, If I see that a game waits till release day to allow reviews I generally steer well clear until a few weeks after release. To me its like the worst marketing strategy possible.
Mario-Kart 8 reviews have been out for at least 2 weeks before release, which has gotten me so excited I have gone ahead and preordered a whole console...
I would be very very surprised if Watchdogs was anything other then pretty bad or very mediocre.
Of course they hold reviews back for big games.
They worry about the drop in sales from 'average' reviews. I generally hate reviews now anyway so much money exchanges hands before with hype articles and BS before hand it's difficult to put any stock in reviews these days.
It's part of the reason I'm tempted with the idea of doing a small unbiased game site for reviews, yes reviews would not be up days before but at least you would know I'm not paid to gloss over the crap.

I'm always suspicious of games that have a review embargo til release day. It automatically makes me think the game is a load of rubbish and publishers know it is.

Still 5 too many imo. I hate online trophies with a passion. I play Madden 25 and they have loads of different online trophies you can earn. I would love to Platinum the game yet I don't like playing Madden online so it'll never happen. They should give you a Single Player & Online Platinum trophy as not everyone wants to play online.

I've said that before about online achievements. They should be locked until u actually play an online game. I've loadsa games with missing achievements that are multi player only

I traded in some stuff at Game on Saturday, and the girl behind the counter asked me if I wanted to pre-order Watch Dogs. I was like err I'll be waiting for the reviews first, and she genuinely looked shocked, and told me she thinks it will get amazing reviews

Yeh more than likely.
Doesn't matter anyway as I wouldn't pre-order from Game with their prices!
