Watching films with people who talk/ask questions, or just generally don't get it!

Same here. On Saturday Quantum of Solace totally lost her. Lots of questions during the film and more after.

Did she watch a film and ask why the driver was using the car infront and behind as impact referance points whilst performing a parrallel park?

A good example of this was "The Departed" a good film but rather complex. She saw Matt Damon and Leo DiCaprio as basically the same person and when they switched roles "cop becomes bad guy, bad guy becomes cop" she had no chance.

bad guy becomes cop? Cop become bad guy? huh, W*T*F.

did i miss something in the film, wasnt they both bad guys.

im sure your not getting this mixed up with face off. Some one once tried to convince me they had actually swapped faces. like im that stupid.

Chatting at the movies is annoying and out of the question.
Watching a movie at home with the mates or g/f and chatting is permitted :D

Wife does this all the time, had a mare of a time trying to explain the matrix trilogy to her :(

I end up saying stfu and watch it woman :p

At what point in the film is Leo Di Caprio a bad cop? He's just working undercover to try to expose the leak in the police force.

I tend to speak to my mate every now and then when it comes to clarifying points. We recently watched Casino royale together and from time to time spoke up about a few things and made jokes but nothing that tedious. Hardly ever do it in a cinema though. I wait till after the movie and then comes to discussion about general things and parts of the film we didn't get

Welcome to my world. My girlfriend is very intelligent (degree from Cambridge, etc) but the plot of James Bond is beyond her grasp. :o

James Bond films have a plot? ;):P

My dad drives me nuts when we're watching stuff, he'll go "who's he", and "what's he doing?", even in the first 30 seconds of something like Flashpoint where it works as the first scene you see is the moment of crisis for the episode, then it resets and works up to it...

Almost as annoying as watching something with someone who goes "isn't that the guy from you thing, you know the one, it's the one with the whatdoyoucallit, with the guy from whatsitcalled".

My Dad's the opposite. He assumes that nobody else knows what's going on and constantly points everything out and clarifies things from even the most most obvious. He also guesses what's going to happen, which is fairly irritating.

I usually try never to ask a question unless im totally lost, and I've tried for a while to work out whats going on - very rarely happens, I'd rather be confused for a bit and then think "Ah I GET IT NOW!" than ruin it for other people.

Blooming annoying girlfriend though, shes always the type for pre-empting the plot 1/2 way through, and spoiling the film - I like to relax watching a film, switch off the rest of my brain and enjoy the moment - I'm watching what happens NOW, not whats going to happen!! Women..... :p

I'm going a bit deaf, or so my g/f keeps telling me. So I keep having to ask "What did he/she just say?"

yeah. i suck at most films. I usually need to watch them 2 or 3 times to get it. last film I saw in the cinema was Dark Knight. First half - followed fine, second half - WTF! rubbish film. I don't even want to watch that one again.

Watched the Last King of Scotland the other month. I had NO IDEA waht that was about and about half way in I wikied it. It gives a nice synopsis, then I understood it. Great film!

My mum recently watched Star Wars. Started with A New Hope...

She was confused by it for 2 reasons:

1) It was Episode 4 and we were watching it first.
2) Stormtroopers are bad guys... but wear white? But Darth Vader is a bad guy and wears black? And those pilot people, they're bad guys and wear black? Couldn't they make up their mind?

*head -> wall*
