Water Cooling?

If it were me doing a £2300 build with WCing there is only 2 cases I'd look at, Silverstone TJ07 and the TJ09. I've built water cooling for friends into both and they look sexy as you like have all the room in the world to set the loop however you wish and with a bit of TLC can look absolutely stunning. They are pricey at around £190 but they are superb in every way.

I think most people on here will agree with me regarding Thermaltake cases.

I Don't. I've got a Mozart TX and its great for a watercooling setup. Got two 240mm radiators in there now and with 10 120mm fans in there i'm not needing to water cool any of the motherboard.

So over to the experts - a couple of things that I've not been able to find out, mainly about radiators. Firstly, what size radiator is neccesary to cool different setups? I've seen you can get 1, 2 and 3 fan versions of most radiators. I'm intending to watercool a quad-core Penryn, the northbridge and two GPUs, so I'm certain a 120.1 rad won't be enough, but will a 120.2? The 120.3 rad looks way too big to fit into a case without cutting holes in the sides.

Well I'm not an expert but I can tell you from what I've done recently.
I was running two 120mm rads cooling just the CPU and was getting 55C temps load at 1.46 volt on the CPU with system in the sig.
I then got myself a GPU water block, took the two 120mm singles out and replaced the with a single 240mm Black Ice GTS rad. Temps went up to just off 70C.
Stopped wasting my money and got a Thermochill PA 120.2, added it with the GTS and now my temps are 46C load CPU with 1.51 volts at 3700, GPU at 44C load.

Waterproof Bob! Thanks mate you've just made my day, the silverstone TJ09 what an absolute amazing case. That's the one alright! I'm getting a Thermochill PA120.3 Radiator, where would it be best to put it in that case? I'm thinking about mounting it on the back. Having said that, I love the TJ07 one too, which one is better? Looks like you can put all the water cooling system in an 07...

Give us an email mate [email protected]

Cheers again,

The fact that the Silverstone is a bit pricey and doesn't have a window is my worries with it. That and the sheer size of it.

Would the 80mm side-fan on a 'normal' case be enough to cool the rest of the non-watercooled internal components with the front 120.2 and single rear 120.1 setup I proposed above?

TJ07 comes in both windowed and none windowed, I'd go for the TJ07 it'd be what I'd have if I wasn't a lowly member of the great unwashed (that's a student btw). It is an absolute joy to build into.

OI TT ARMOR CASES ARE GOOD! lol just everyone on this forum are Lian-Li Bummers

Apart from the New Armor Case thats abit fugly

Oh yes, it's got vents on both side of the case, that way like you say it'll blow all the warm air out wihout even rising to the motherboard etc. Looks like I'll go for that case then.

Cheers mate,
