Watercooling advice

Yeah I seen tons of HAF X logs as that was my original case of choice (can't remember if it was you or someone else who suggested elysium) but who ever did, I liked the look of it and it looked easier to work within but couldn't find any logs.

I like the look of black + red builds though, hence my reason for getting the red bitfenix alchemy pre-braided cables, red LED fans, and i'll probably through in some Phobya LED strips.

Now I can't wait to get this, shame I won't have time until after exams :(

Elysium is so much better, but it's a pretty new case so not yet many adopters of it :(

Black and red is good, but IMO, bit too cliched :p

Good luck with the exams ;)

I think black and red would be best tbh

Don't really like the black and white builds, although some do look nice, every build i've done in the past with coloured fans/leds/cathode kits etc has been blue. And don't like green

Can't think of another colour that'd go with black well :p

Thanks, got assignments first. Next 2 months are going to be fun

Games always have to pick perfect timing to come out, they should release them at start of summer so I get time to play them instead of having to wait a few months :p

I have the Elysium on order and I think I also reccomended it to you. I have the Xigmatec Utgard case atm and have been really impressed with how versatile it is for cooling solutions. I'm going to try fit a 420 radiator up the top and a 280 down the bottom with psu.

If you find any good builds ppl have done in this case can you post links just in case I haven't seen them.

Scotteh - you don't like green eh? GTFO!:p

1uke - look forward to it :D
Might be better to go for a 240 in the bottom so there's more space for PSU cables so it makes it look neater? Depends how much space there is really :)

Yeah I did consider the 240 as I know that fits with standard psu's but I don't mind getting my dremel out and modding it abit if needed. I'm getting the case for my birthday next week so will measure up b4 ordering rads ;-)

I think the review on it said you could get a 420 on top, 240 in bottom (otherwise you'd struggle with psu cables) and a 360 in the drive bays :p

I seen your build with the green it looks good, but personally I always prefer blue/red :p

Which tube res would you recommend btw for the pump (one you recommended before was DDC pump)

I may add another to my order incase I prefer it to a drive bay res (hard to choose unless I actually see it)

@1uke do a build log so I can see it :p

Lmao at how at the start of the thread I was looking to buy wc kit + case for ~£300

130 posts on and i'm over £600

If I get a chance to see a watercooling build in the Elysium I'll probably decide on the tube or bay res, but if I don't I'll just throw in both

I'll throw in a 240 when I buy the GPU waterblock at summer time

Indeed. I have that effect on people.
My parents used to hate it. Can't possibly fathome why!

IMO, bay res look so much better. Getting two of them myself :p

Someone on other forum disagrees :p

Is the XSPC one compatible with the rest (metals match etc) and do you reckon EK HF is better? :p

Personally I don't like the look of the new XSPC block and it doesn't seem to have AMD mounting plates so limits portability. Down the line if I want to change it and sell it I'm limited to whichever socket it was bought for.

Plus I don't think there have been massive temperature improvements as blocks seem to be reaching limits. Only flow increases I suppose but with minor differences like that I'd be going for what I like best.

Anyway doesn't seem the XSPC block has any other metal except copper, and even if it didn't it'd still be compatible just not recommended :)
