WBAC Values

Could sell my 2 year Tesla Model 3 for profit.... Madness of the 2nd hand market just now.

Paid £35340 after plug in grant 2 years ago, WBAC offering £36180 after 2 years and 11k mileage! Bonkers really.

Now the new plates are out I've checked my wife's car again, it's gone up about 5% since mid-July which is a lot more than the £20 or whatever I saw last time. I think it is just playing catchup though, it didn't see any where near the gains of other vehicles earlier in the year.

Looking at Autotrader is quite insightful though, you need to spend at least 50% more than WBAC are offering to get a comparable model.
edit: actually that's just for petrol, diesel models with comparable age/spec are only about 15% higher.

Shame so few would actively go looking for this model, we could undercut the best price on AT by a couple of grand and still be well ahead of WBAC.

T Reg M5 gone from 10k last year to 14.5k as of yesterday. Not bad.. unless they actually saw it lol.. barn find comes to mind

I did my Ibiza FR the other night and it has only lost £700 in 2 years. My wife asked "did that include all of the dents and paintwork damage?" :o

Fortuntely no dents or scuffs, but I've heard horror stories. I know there's a £75 admin fee, so hopefully I'll get a decent offer.

Sold a car to them in past and got within £100 of their offer and the car was in ooor condition, ruined tyres, scratches etc they don’t notice a lot.

Know a few guys been taken cars recently to them and getting nothing knocked off.

My assessor said that they aren’t knocking as much off now as they were getting a bad name. Of course there could be zero truth in that.

I heard they used to be incentivised on how much they could knock off but it was banned due to unfair trading practices so now their commission is based on how well the cars do at auction vs the price paid

The 2007 Audi A4 2.0 TFSI with persistent lean code issues, mileage issues (-30k on the real mileage, shown on HPI) flaking rear door paint, ill fitting bumper, and kerbed alloys that I sold to WBAC for just under £1000, was just put up for sale locally (small dealer) at nearly £4000....
As of this morning, the advert went missing. I hope it was to correct the advert, and not that someone bought it!!

@Malt_Vinegar I sold a pretty decent Accord diesel to WBAC because I literally couldn't sell it anywhere else (after weeks and the cheapest on the market. I suspected it may have needed a new clutch and took the adverts down. WBAC bought it off me and it's no had an MOT since. :D

For fun I put my reg in. 2020 A35 AMG with 1,100 miles on the clock. Owned it for about 8-9 months now. I haven't done anything with the offers, just ignored them, but I got another email yesterday to say it had been increased again. I'm now just shy of £38K. My outstanding balance is £33k and I generated an early settlement quote which is for £28k. That would mean potentially a £10k lumper for me. Tempting like... but what would I get in its place!
