WBAC Values

Time has come to part ways with my W204 C63. Just been offered £1.5K more by local Mercedes dealer than WBAC and £1K more than Motorway's initial valuation. Really good feedback about condition (for a 10 year old motor) any they do want it as it'd be the only approved 6.3L C63 on their network. Was hoping for a little more honrstly. Don't know whether is worth the hassle of dealing with tyre kickers and selling privately?

WBAC sending emails again, your value has increased blah blah, Yaris now over £31,000, 458 over £130,000, retail prices seem strong as well.

My GT3 sold in under a week, at a price higher than I paid for it in June, used market is really hard to predict it seems, I am tempted to take the gamble though and sit on the money and hope the Winter will bring a drop early next year before pulling the trigger on a 600 LT Spider.

But how will you get to work if you have sold your car? :p

Drive one of the other cars. :D

Only keeping Yaris because Mrs likes it, I've pretty much lost interest in it to be honest. Plus come March they gonna want 20k of me to keep it, or I can sell it and pocket 12-14k, decisions. Will certainly keep it through Winter though, don't want to be driving the other cars on salty roads to be honest.

Man i thought you loved the GT3 surprised it's gone already!

Epic car but I gave a 600LT a try and now I wish to own one. I am sure I will end up back in a GT3, but next time I will try an RS or gen2 car or do as I've done in the past, buy it back lol.

Yeah, just reading your posts in the Porsche thread :)

Yea my Yaris is at £32k at WBAC and £32.7k estimated from Motorway. It is incredibly tempting to move it on and try something else as prices are remaining hella strong.

All the new car price increases is helping a lot, most brands increasing prices.

The 'sweet spot' for trading up has gone, Q4 last year had an interesting combination of elevated used car prices but before new car prices had risen that much. So if you were considering a brand new car then you'd end up paying less to upgrade than normal.

I've been tracking the price of a new car since Jan/Feb and it's gone up multiple times from about £25k to £28k (discounted price, list price has gone from about £28.5k to £31k). Now they've actually binned that particular trim level to kind of force you into spending even more.

I've been looking around at various Estate/SUV options and it feels like a terrible time to be buying, the big broker discounts are gone, more and more cars are breaching the £40k threshold (meaning £LOL tax). Even the 'cheap' estates are now £30k in a decent trim. It's kind of a double-whammy because new car prices are elevated AND nearly new prices are also very high due to stock issues so it's not even like you can hunt down a bargain. I occasionally look at ex-demonstrator prices from a franchised dealer with a range of different marques and some of those are comedy compared to what it used to be like. It's got to the point now where for the first time in over 10 years I'm at a loss as to where to find any value meeting our requirements in the car market, probably some niche or old stuff worth considering but it's generally an odd state of affairs, there's nothing that looks attractive enough to make one pull the trigger.

Tried using motorway for the first time to sell my wife’s car. What a PITA. Dealers making offers and then not contacting so it falls through even after chasing, or them coming up and trying to get money off the pre-agreed price.

One dealer who was a right cheeky ******* told me had to take money off for worn tyres near legal limit (not even checking markers or measuring them) The funny thing is we just replaced them the day before as they were bordering legal limit and we were waiting for cheaper replacements to come into stock for selling. He soon ran away when I called him out and showed my measuring tool.

Whole point is they make you do all the work up front to avoid all this crap while still getting a fair price. Wish I just went to WBAC for £1k less.

Not sure what value car you were selling but I have used them (Motorway) twice and been great both times.

Once was bought by a car supermarket and once by Sytner group. Both turned up when they said they would, had a very quick look around the car, and paid the agreed amount.

Just sold one through Carwow and they are picking up tomorrow so will let you know if it’s the same!

Motorway took the mickey with me, great price until i added a scuff on the bumper and small scratch. price dropped by half on a 12 year old Merc E class.
