WBAC Values

WBAC have just quoted £29,000 for my car. I’ve previously had valuations from them of high teens so the market has clearly gone mad!

It will be £3k more next month. I've just had Volvo contact me so see if we want to give three lease vehicles back now which arent due back until 24th July cause they are desperate for them and already have them provisionally sold.

Best quote I've had so far is a shade over £26k, pretty happy with that, however gonna give it until tomorrow or maybe Monday, and possibly call a couple of local dealers see if they are interested.

Me and the Mrs were in the 458 yesterday and the looks on peoples faces, the excitement from kids, the car just makes people really happy and kids huge excitement.
We then said when they grow up, they will most likely be buying some electric car, even more cameras about and even stricter road rules and we thought to ourselves we have really grown up in one of the best times, to have the posters on the wall as a kid, the dream and then to make the dream a reality.

Now a kid looking at a Ferrari, Lamborghini or other similar car with a screaming V8, V10 or V12 well those kind of cars in 20 years time won't exist and the used ones that do will be crazy money and more difficult to source and buy than they are now.

Maybe the younger generation will love their electric supercars who knows, but for me they give no excitement, just a glorified milk float. :D

I've had similar conversions and even more about AI. There will be kids around now who will perhaps never learn to drive and will just have AI EV cars.

I agree we grew up in the best of times.

The future will be people sitting at home in VR getting fat. I think self driving cars are still a long way off in reality though. There's still so many issues and no way around them.

I think car enthusiasts will die off eventually. EVs are just white goods and there still does not seem to be much of a following at all, no one bats an eyelid at them. There is only the cult of Tesla which is full of vegans and people who aren't really car guys.

EVs are cars, just like other cars - it's just that they have a different way of being powered. I don't see how that makes them 'white goods'.

BEV sales are up 54% in a market that's down 39% so I'd say there's traction there. Not least because the tax rates for company car drivers make it so lucrative.

Yea, bought as company cars to use and abuse then get rid of. Not something a car enthusiast buys with the intention of keeping and touring around Europe in etc.

Most of the car market are not car enthusiasts, though.

That said, EVs have enthusiasts, just like ICE cars do. Check Facebook out for numerous fan pages on EVs.

Theres a facebook page for everything.

Maybe EVs will get more interesting if Lotus manage to scale the Evija back for non-insane performance and make it affordable.

Granted, but there are without doubt EV enthusiasts. It just sounds like you're not one of them, which is fair enough.

Yeah some of the performance EV cars are great but gone are the days of modding and tinkering with them unless you are a computer hacker.

And AI will be the bigger killer, not EV on its own. Its only going to be the older generation in the future who can actually manually drive a car

It'll be like Mad Max with battles raging between V8, V10 & V12 owners over the last can of fuel :p

Well the V8 diesel SQ7 we own has gone up 20% in 6 months. I reckon cause so few were ever sold that it will hold its valur well in the future.

I know people buying low mileage V8,V10,V12 cars now with an eye that they will be future collectibles since most have ceased production and will never be made again.

[Existential crisis] If someone on the internet claims that you don't exist, does that mean you cease to exist? [/Existential crisis]

Car enthusiast who bought a Model 3 with the intention to keep it and drove it around Europe last summer.

im a petrolhead at hart but cousin took me for a spin in his tesla a bottom of the range single motor model S 70. its flipped my world upside down. electric is the future and as much as i hate to admit it... electric is superior to combustion engine :(
lord knows how a P100D would be like..

They are amazing, granted but I will miss the combustion engine.

Never mind the P100D, the Tesla Roadster next year will do 0-60 in 1.1s and 0-100 in under 3.0s . No combustion engine car can compete with that.
