Yep sorted now sold on Car WOW for £2K more!Sounds like a one man band, not a dealer. Perhaps Motorway have become less caring about who they let bid on their platform. Hope you get it sorted soon![]()

Yep sorted now sold on Car WOW for £2K more!
Yep fantastic experience compared to Motorway ... sold mine very fast got £2K more buyer already contacted me soon as auction ended & I accepted!! just waiting for the payment....!Any luck with Carwow?
Just need to get my car collected and we are done. Purchase order is all confirmed.
Their app is also better less hassle just a smoother experience plus even got a call from their broker to say any issues with bidders let her know they would cancel them at my say so (had someone ruin my motorway bids last week!).That's a mega result.
Yep for sure always look around do not trust 1 source some are better than others. Motorway give the highest estimate but I suspect its just to get you to list with them & few achieve that actual headline number!2k more? That's a huge disparity. Shows its worth looking around
Carwow were arguing the toss about the value of my car 6 months ago and were stating it would struggle to even get £24k. Motorway estimated the value of the same car last month at £24490 and it was sold at that which was a good £2k above any other valuation.2k more? That's a huge disparity. Shows its worth looking around
Completed my sale on Car WOW now amazing experience start to finish everything worked as expected & the auction flowed naturally. Dealer paid me within minutes of meeting me did not even bother looking over the car (it was pristine anyway).
Plus getting £2K more than Motorway means for sure I would recommend them!!

LOL that's because I drove my car to them on Friday morning...1 last blast in it up the A1 to save them the hassle of coming to collect & spending 4-5 hours crawling through average speed checks & insane traffic congestion as I live in West London in the daytime it takes a long time to make any progress!I’m still waiting on mine to be collected. I’ve not had the same issues as you with Motorway but your sale progress to collection seems to be lightening fast compared to Motorway.

I recently sold my mum's car (she died in June last year) through Motorway.co.uk, and the dealer that bought it has left a bit of sour taste in my mouth.
It was a Peugeot 208, 2014, 1.6 litre, automatic. There were various dents/scrapes on it but overall it was actually OK. I recently got a fresh MOT, put a new battery in it (last one died as it hadn't been used for a year), but it was due a service (only due to time passed, not miles done).
Anyway, initial estimate on Motorway was £3,800, but a reserve price of £3,500 when I submitted all the photos. To my surprise it sold for £4,500.
Some bloke came to see it, he was inspecting it for about 20 minutes outside my house and then put trade plates on it to take it for a test drive. When he came back he started telling me things that were wrong with it. Something about the turbo, that the sub frame at the front and back was rusted (I did look myself and to be fair it was extremely rusty/corroded), but the thing I'm still curious about is the leaking oil on top of the engine. He showed this to me and it just seemed a bit off, he told me what the issue was but I can't actually remember what he said. He had this little bag on the floor next to him and I noticed he had a small bottle of oil in there. I asked him why he had it and he gave me some story about sometimes needing to top a car's oil up if it's not been looked after.
I don't know, something just felt off. Anyway, they knocked the price down to £2,900, and I just took it because I wanted it gone, it's been stressful trying to get it ready for sale and I just couldn't deal with it any more.
I've checked their website and they now have it listed for just shy of £6k. I expected a bit of a knock down on the price, but £1,600 was a bit excessive.
aye had that before, i think trick here is not to allow test drive on his own. ive had it where 2 or 3 folk turn up to look at a vehicle and try to keep me busy whilst one interferes with the engine, oil, water even caught one trying to pull a pipe off a turbo favorite is unclipping the maff sensor plug. It’s not really of any relevance now, but I think you’ve been had.
Easy to be taken advantage of when there’s stress involved, and it sounds like it has been for you.
The main thing is that you’ve got the money for it now, and you don’t need to think about it again![]()
