WBAC Values

Any recommendations for cars valued under £5000?
In Jan I sold a Yaris for £5,250 by advertising it on Autotrader. On the whole it was pretty easy, it took 3 days. I did make sure that it was the cheapest one on Autotrader as it gave me the leverage to stick at £5,250 and not accept any offers, and most enquiries started with “What’s your best price?” lol. I reasoned I’d get more interest if it was the cheapest.
I went with the cheapest option on Autotrader which meant I wasn’t able to add any blurb to the advert. I just had a Word document prepared listing all that stuff and sent it to every email enquiry
Of course you have the hassle of actually dealing with punters. I’m not very good at doing that, but having the confidence to stick to your price gives you a surprising amount of backbone
To avoid money laundering issues I took a photo of the buyer’s driving licence and ensured the funds were received from an account in their name, as well as doing the DVLA stuff with their name and the address shown on the licence

The next option was Facebook marketplace, but all you hear about is tyre kicking punters trying to beat you down on price, and too much speculative interest vs genuine interest

I think the problem with Carwow aound this price level is there’s just not enough margin to be made by any purchaser, hence the suggestion of a much lower reserve. Remember these purchasers are just looking to flip the car asap
