Raid 5 although handy for servers isn't a backup solution either, my Raid5 server has been reliable for probably 1.5yrs now (all WD Greens) but a bit of bad luck and my 6tb is mushy mush too.......i had one drive die on the server and that was a RE2-FYPS Enterprise drive so even those can go bang. Proper backup for big servers is a costly proposition.Indeed I am wondering about going RAID 5 now![]()
oh dear - i was waiting for one of these to get back in stock - 2Tb version. Think i'll go for a sseagate!
They're good drives, one persons bad luck doesn't change that.
