No, 3Gb/sec is the maximum that the SATAII interface can handle. The sustained speed is the speed at which the HD can actually pull the data off the platters. So the maximum interface speed is irrelevant as long as the sustained speed off the hard disk is slower than the interface speed - you'll get the maximum possible speed out of the HD whether the maximum interface speed is 150Gbps or 300Gbps, because the sustained speed of 60MB/s is much slower than both 150Gbps or 300Gbps.Carl21 said:Theoretical limit, so.. in Theory it can run at 300mb/sec... but it runs at 62?
My mobo supports 3Gb/sec, I find this a lil strange. Is Theoretical limit and Sustained speed the same stat?
thanks for your help Street.
I prefer having the choice. Can't please everyone, I guess *shrugs*sirlemonhead said:Yeah, my god, how utterly retarded is it to have TWO power connectors on one hard drive? I don't give a crap if someone doesn't have a sata power connector on their PSU...they should buy a cheap adapter.
The whole design of the thing just seems like madness. They could have at least included something to plug the damn molex holes up so you dont accidentally hook it up twice.
