**WEATHER THREAD**

Errr if it's cold enough to turn rain to hail I think it might just be cold enough to snow, don't you !!!

Hail usually forms in the higher strata of the atmosphere as dense balls of ice then falls to the ground. So it may not feel as cold at ground level but there can still be hail. For it to snow at ground level it's generally much colder.

Wheres this global warming they keep on about. It's really cold for October. It's not usually this cold until January.

Why does EVERYONE keep bringing this up everytime the weather is bad?

It's not Global Warming, it hasn't been Global Warming for years now, it's Climate Change.

We had quite a bit of snow aswell, went out to make a snowman (as you do :D) but the snow was quite icy and wouldnt stick together well so I abandoned it.

So just to clarify, are "they" now saying that the temperatures wont go higher, but simply that our climates will change (ie. temps might go up or down, as we move forward into the future)?

We were promised thick frost and some snow here over night, but got neither. :(

What I'd really love is the sort of snow showers we got when I were a nipper - almost 2 foot deep with foot long icicles hanging from the roof! Haven't had that for years and years!
