Weekend break in Amsterdam

The law changed earlier this year, places must now be either "one or the other "
There's a lot of places which flaunt it though - you'll see the "Smoker Friendly" signs outside a good number of places. I guess that while they changed the laws, they don't really care all that much :eek:

And OP, not sure I can offer much in the way of advice apart from the above - we went there for two nights a few weeks back for a stag-do and didn't do much that I would really want to have my other half tagging along for :D

Bars can ne "smoker friendly" the law just doesn't allow the sale of both things on 1 premise

on 1 July a full smoking ban similar to the UK is due to come into effect

I go on 19th of November, our plans are pretty much cafes cafes and erm more cafes followed by a walk through the red light district ;

There are a few nice outdoors ones that i can think off rembrant square. Just dont fancy it in the snow like it was last time i was :eek:

whats that castle type restaurant, in the middle of a square. It is well well worth going there.

expect to spend around 70Euros + for a 3 course and wine. But it's very good.

yeh that's one thing I am disappointed I didn't do, but I ran out of money, it's stupidly expensive. 4 euros for .25litres of beer.

Weed was so cheap, but due to my job, I didn't partake as I was hoping for some interviews and drugs tests. But they changed the closing dates, so I could have :(

One place i would avoid is the floating chinese restaurant in the harbor, my local chinese take away is nicer than that place, unless you are of the opinion that quantity = quality, two of the biggest piles of slop on a plate please waiter, oh, and i'll pay you 60+ eruos for it too!
