*** Weekend Football - 14th / 15th ***

If I was an Irish player I think I'd be exchanging words with Henry right about now, not sitting on the grass with him like Dunne is.
 
Last time I was this angry at a football match we'd just been knocked out of the CL by Chelsea (I'm a Liverpool fan, and Irish)

Disgusting French cheats :mad:
 
I've always had a lot of respect for Henry, and generally have seen him as a both exceptional and fair player (at least more so than most). He's gone a long way down in my estimations tonight though.

Maybe because france won 2-1 over the two legs ;)

I don't blame henry, all players cheat if given the chance. It's up to the officals, and without a video refs it's nearly impossible. And if there was a video ref henry probably wouldn't even bother as he would know that he would be caught.

Great effort by the lads. Gave it 100%, which is rare in international football.
 
well i think the whole world will be against the frogs in the WC hope they get knocked out without even scoring a goal like 2002
 
Henry's not celebrating but that's pretty hollow when he did have the oppurtunity to admit to handball. But then again you'd have to have pretty big nuts to say to the referee that you handballed it when your entire country and team just wants you to shut up. If he'd told the ref and they'd gone out on pens then he would have been crucified by the French media.

Oh well, Domenech has crawled to the World Cup, I quite like the French team but I hope they get CRUSHED at the World Cup.

People saying he could have admitted to the handball. That isn't necessary, he shouldn't have handballed it in the first place.

I think theres a good chance of that. Average team with a fairly useless manager. Gutted we couldn't put them away.

That's not entirely fair, it's like saying that people should never put in a rash tackle or mouth off at the ref. While it's true, it's pretty tough to make those decisions in a pressure situation.

It's much more possible, though, to admit to the handball/foul or whatever it is after your mind has caught up a few seconds later.

I'm not defending Henry, it was despicable, but anyway...

Gutted though, I was all lined up for a World Cup of Portugal-hating, but those plans will have to change now!
