Weekend Football; 17-19th January - *SPOILERS*

Worst derby I've seen for years. No passion, no fire, no bad tackles, no atmosphere in the ground, bad refereeing, poor performances.

A draw was the right result. Anichebe man of the match for me.

How does Webb constantly get the big games? His decision making is awful at times, although at least he got both penalty decisions right.

You mean Arsenal

To come 5th maybe ;)

Perfect result for us, Everton gain less ground, Liverpool don't scamper off. We're 28/1 for the title now. I can't believe how many people underestimate us.

We've got 3 winnable games, Pompey away, Wigan home, Blackburn away. If we can then get something from Chelsea...

Would you consider us challengers yet Baz? I know the scared/sarcastic side of you will probably reply "no chance, we'll win it;)" or something, but I want an honest opinion :p

Is that a joke? Anichebe, who barely bothered running anything down at all, Man of the match. then the one time he actually won the ball and got through on goal, he dived like a little girl instead of trying to score or cutting it back? ANichebe was lazy throughout. Cahill ran FAR far harder than him all game, defensively, closing down, scored, was completely on his own in a game where both ANichebe and Pinaar had terrible games and gave him no support and no supply in any way. Even then Cahill maybe wasn't man of the match, Jageilka had a blinder, Lescott wasn't half bad.

Everton's midfield was sorely lacking today, Arteta gave it away quite a lot, Osman barely put a foot right and they all gave it away a lot, defensively closing down Osman/Arteta/pinaar worked hard and were good, just offensively all 3 sucked hard today.

Both teams were fairly poor, a fair result really. Though has to be said, Everton were the far further weakened team so did incredibly well.

The laziest person on the field who only ran twice?! Shoulda been replaced with somebody who wanted to play..

Drunkenmaster has it right.. Hes been very lazy for us throughout the season. For a big lad, he goes down very easily instead of trying to turn and take on the other player.

Still, glad with a draw, least it keeps them off the top, think a lose would have been harsh. Gutted I wasn't there, but bring on Sunday! :D

Would have only been bettered if Neville has spanked in a winner :D

:D:D

28/1? I'd offer you 2800/1. You won't even finish in the top 4, you're getting ahead of yourself.

If you are expecting 9 points from those 3 games then I'd advise you to lower your expectations a little, all 3 are hardly walkovers especially Wigan.

Round and round, round and round,

All dayyy l..... Oh they've fallen off :o

I've thought for a while now that Liverpool are going to run out of luck, when they were snatching late wins here and there. I just don't think they have enough just yet. I'd love for them to stay up there and last the distance and give us a brilliant title race, but I just can't see them lasting the distance unfortunately.

At the same time though Man United aren't exactly impressing at the moment. They're struggling too much for goals. I'm sure they will turn it around though. I'm hoping Arsenal can capitalise on everyone's mediocre form and get themselves right in amongst them again, because they're far from out of a challenge just yet...

Portsmouth are in a slump, and while they admittedly played well against Spurs, we should have too much for them, given our away form. Wigan aren't great away from home. I respect them and have often said they're a decent team, but if we're going to aim high then we have to look at these sort of games as ones which we should be winning.

Fancy offering me £20 at that 2800/1 then?

Looks like Liverpool have bottled it.

How long before the "we're concentrating on the Champions League" excuses start coming out..
