Really the whole team hasn't been a disgrace at all this season, but certain players and the manager has been.
Fabregas is again playing much deeper than Denilson, he's never claimed to be a defensive midfielder and isn't looking particularly great in that role, but thats because he's also not playing alongside a quality player. Flamini looked good because he could play the role and Fabregas didn't give it away every 4 seconds like Denilson does.
Having a go at Fabregas, when he's one of the very few players to take responsibility, see the massive hole in defensive midfield and he's TRYING HIS BEST to fill it, I find it disgraceful that of all the players you're singling him out for stepping up. Denilson/Song both yet again refusing to sit back in the hole, refusing to make a clean tackle or keep hold of the ball.
THe line up almost made me cry when I saw it. THe clear problems with defense, tbh even with Adebayor we're scoring, the problems are holding teams off, the problem, Ade constantly cheaply giving it away. Denilson incapable of sitting back and playing defensively, Song is just utter crap in defense and certainly didn't help after coming on at 4-2 against Spurs. The players that should have been dropped without question, Ade and Denilson get started, and we bring in Song instead of dropping him to the reserves?
IN all the games, cup, pre-season, CL, Ramsey's looked stronger, cooler headed, more able to defend and better going forwards than Denilson, he was the best player on the pitch in the England/wales matches against a predominately premiership first team starters team, but no sign of him.
Adebayor with the lovely flick on to absolutely no-one when the ball was directly into his feet, refused to try to hold it up, got frustrated that his pass was 30yards clear of an Arsenal player and proceded to flying kick a player, to be honest, it was studs in, late, aggresive , extremely dangerous and made contact, it really should have been a red just as Sktrl's should have been and Eboue's was last year.
What are the odd's on Wenger taking Song, Denilson and Adebayor off for, Vela, Ramsey and, hell, put Fabianski on for Denilson for all I care.
EDIT:_ this is why I'm so worried about this year and so negative about the prospects for the rest of the year. Rather than try something new that might work, as he's done for years now he's desparately hanging onto the idea that Denilson and Adebayor might play well because they have before. He knows they can score and is putting his hope on that rather than trying the semi untested Ramsey or Vela. IN other words, he's too scared to try to change things for the better. He refused to drop ADebayor in his massive dry spell before , and after the midseason lucky run he went on. We're a joke, we're even worse defensively this game bringing Song into the mix with Denilson. More defensive players + being worse defensively = those players are crap at defense, its not exactly quantum physics.
