Pathetic tbh, injuries don't matter, Wengers a twit and we created almost nothing. Where to start, rest players against Wolves, sitting in the bottom 3 before the internationals, or play a full squad against one of the worst teams in the league, so players are less tired after playing in internationals and available today against a team that had scored against the rest of the top 4 this season............ hmmm.
I bemoaned the lack of resting players then, saying they'll all play in internationals and we've only got harder games coming up and it will bite us in the ass and look what happens.
Then we've got a couple enforced changes, then Wenger adds a whole host of other changes aswell rather than keeping it to a minimum to keep some squad understanding going. They played today like a team that simply hasn't played together before, which, they haven't. In Rosicky, Nasri, Theo, Traore, Eduardo, Vela you have non match fit players, all playing for significant portions. You have Eboue who could have started at left/right back or in midfield, who the team is used to playing with who is one of the fittest players in the squad with endless energy. It was a ridiculous decision to play such a changed squad and leaving out the most tireless of players even worse.
Bringing on Theo to rescue the game, aswell as Vela, two completely non match fit players who've barely kicked a ball this season, the whole things a joke. As is not giving these guys REAL minutes in real games before today. How many times will we refuse to rotate then be forced into playing lots of not match fit players with no form to get games like this.
I didn't think Sunderland were very good, we dominated the ball but created nothing. The movement up top, the runs/understanding and interplay was woeful as we got near the box.
But we've what, now played 4 top half teams, lost 3, won 1, and still played less top half games than every other side in the league. We did everything wrong today, and the squads we've played for the past 3-4 games have led up to this, we flat out refuse to rest players against crap teams, and end up forced to play untried squads against much stronger teams.
We scored 7 whole goals more than the next best side in the league before today, that would be Chelsea who were ahead anyway, we've played 4 top half teams, they've played, iirc 7. They scored 4 today when playing a bottom half team, so they've scored 3 less, and for the top/bottom ratio to even up we've got another 3 games to go against the top half, they need to play 3 bottom half teams. You think they aren't going to score 3 more than us playing bottom half teams? So while Arsenal fans were creaming themselves over our title chances and our massive goals scoring, we're scoring FAR worse than other teams against the top half and only scoring as well as others against the bottom half. Yay.
