Weekend Football Thread. *spoilers* 18-22

lol! :D

Wigan just had a goal ruled out for offside. Yet again Mannone fudged up the save, I don't see how the gaffer rates him, he really has been terrible in every game I've seen him in. Fabianski is a much better prospect. Probably should sub Cesc, we don't want him getting injured.

Didn't see that. Was it offside?

No subs left so cesc gets to stay on injured, and Mannone has been at the club 4 years, so he will count as a homegrown player, the other two keepers won't so he'll be an easy low risk way to have a homegrown player in the squad, hence get him games now rather than someone who won't help when the quotas come in. I see the logic, and he's young with the least experience so not surprising he looks worse tbh.

EDIT:_ actually, what is the rule, for now its going to be 8 players out of 25 submitted for the league have to be homegrown, which means trained in the uk for 3 years under the age of 21? AT some point I'm assuming they'll add an amount you need in your gameday squad aswell or is there already a minimum number for game squads aswell?

Mannone has kept a clean sheet, so far this season Almunia hasn't been able to do that. Maybe I'm testing fate, as there is 2 minutes left.

Apparently it was yeah. We should just play the last few minutes with 10 men. I don't see Wigan scoring 3 if Cesc goes off.

2-3 yards offside, had he been onside he probably would have still got to it first, was pretty lazy to be off and lucky for us. Cesc should go off but can't see him giving up or Wenger telling him to come off. Seems a needless risk.

HEHE< assume he scored as I posted, must be a minute or so behind :p

He's running away from the goal limping so assuming he doesn't want to be on, shows just how hard he works, injured, in pain, still gets into the box and gets a goal.

Danny Collins hauls Sam Ricketts down with a clumsy challenge inside the area and it's another sure-fire penalty. No debatable ones today... Matthew Taylor takes it, and hauls Wanderers level with a low finish into the bottom right corner - Thomas Sorensen dived the other way.

Except for the penalty that the ref denied us in the first half. Wake up "Chris Bevan". :p

What the hell, Fabregas doesn't look happy. What sort of goalscoring celebration is that. Sort of Ronaldo esque at the start of last season. SMILE

4-0, good win against a decent team who have a very good manager. If someone offered me a 4-0 win before the game I would've taken it. Not happy with Song's occasional crazy tackling and his giving away of the ball but we should keep giving him games, he'll sharpen up eventually. Very impressed with RVP, Verminator and Eduardo did alright too. Can't wait to watch all the highlights again later on. :D

Btw he was playing on in pain.
