Weekend Football Thread. *spoilers* 3-5

Wigan are a Championship team

Manchester United are a top 2 team

Is this a state the obvious competition?

Was that goal Spurs first shot on target, only 2 according to footie365, only one off target. Bolton have had 5 on target and before the goal Spurs didn't look a threat at all, managed to miss the goal though.

Bolton have had some good chances and at times kept possession well, don't let statistics blind you though. I disagree about Spurs not looking a threat, before the Spurs goal Bolton may have had a really good 10 minute period, but before that Spurs were keeping possession well and had Bolton penned into their half for sometime. The problem was that they had almost everyone back, with Muamba mopping up very well. Then lots of long balls and Spurs giving away silly free kicks let Bolton send the big guys up and play to their strengths.

Bolton playing surprisingly good football and were very much deserving of their lead.

As much you can be deserving after 5 minutes I suppose.

Spurs definitely need to find a cutting edge though, Defoe to come on and cause some chaos hopefully. I'd like to see Bentley brought on for Lennon later on and see if his passing can cut open some openings because Lennon is just being crowded out.

Still anyone's game.

Linesman isn't having the best of games, first half he flagged for the ball going out of play when Crouch had kept it in. Just now he's flagged Crouch offside when he was clearly on.

LOL, certainly no sour grapes about the performance, if you play eleventy billion times better than another team and score after 5 mins then you still deserve it, but I didn't say that I posted around half time, at which point they'd been by far the better team. I'm not going on stats alone, but watching it. The stats just reinforce what I'd seen, a toothless wasteful Spurs who till about 10 mins before the goal hadn't had a shot on target.

Ekoto was absolutely awful for the 2nd goal, he was way ahead of Davies, could have hell, shouldered him out the way so he didn't get the ball inside the post, blocked the ball, won the header, instead with two yards to go he slowed down and wussed out incase the big bad post got him. Davies showed no fear and boom, goal.

lol, Bolton haven't been good for a couple mins at all, Crouch should have equalised, Corluka did, slow git but at least he can head the ball.

EDIT:- was Defoe only not started because of the hand injury? Or did Redknapp want to see how Keane/Crouch linked up, neither prefer the Defoe role and neither "should" play that well with each other, why when Spurs started the season so strong did he start messing with the line up. I can understand it more in a Bolton when you think you'll win but that Utd game was a very stupid time to go changing a bang on form front pairing.
