Weekend Footy Spoilers

3-0 to celtic to win the CIS insurance cup. :)

I thought the 1 minute applause instead of a minutes silence for Jimmy Johnstone was a good idea, it will stop some idiots shout out during a silence.

R.I.P. Jimmy

Great result for Liverpool today, when i saw the line-up i would've been happy with a draw, but it worked out well, good to see we're scoring again, 8 goals in 2 games!

Could be a very interesting end to the season with the current form of the top three, lets hope it gets tricky at the death :D

Dean told BBC Sport: "I went over to Paul and he told me that as the ball has been played forward he is convinced there has been a handball."

He added: "We had a chat and we were happy it was handball.

"Having seen the TV replay we were spot on. We have got the biggest decision in the game correct.

"If we had have got it wrong we would have been absolutely battered. But we have got it right, and let's get a bit of praise for a change.
Shouldn't really admit to guessing at decisions mate...

Being convinced isn't a guess is it?
He never saw a handball, he saw the ball go forward, how can he then be convinced it was handball?

Edit: He also mentioned that 'having seen the TV replay we were spot on' they didn't know, did they:)

1. The liner was convinced it was handball
2. The ref thought it might be (hence not blowing up and giving the goal initially)
3. They talked between themselves and agreed on the decision
4. They reviewed it afterwards and saw they'd been correct

I don't see a problem

If you were a Premiership ref and had had to make a big call wouldn't you be interested in seeing it again afterwards?

He's just confirming that there is proof they got the decision right. Whole thing is a bit of a non-story if you ask me... refs get help from the linos all the time on different things, it just happens to be in a big TV game so people (not you, just in general) try and stir up some controversy over it. I'm sure it'll all blow over in due course anyway, just like the incident in the Charlton-Arsenal game last year.

Walcott hasn't played a competitive game for his new club yet, basically because he's not ready, SWP isn't ready to start every game for Chelsea, very similar if you ask me

Walcott only signed professional terms this week though, whereas SWP has been playing top flight football for years. Walcott wouldn't have been playing much first team football for any Prem club worth it's salt anyway - whereas SWP would have got a bunch of starts for most of them.

I'm not critisising Chelsea because they have a good enough squad to leave the likes of SWP out. It's just that some people feel his career might have been better served at e.g. Liverpool.

I can see where you are coming from with Walcott because Arsenal have such an outrageous excess of talent in his position, so really he shouldn't be getting many games for a couple of years at least IMO. The difference is that at his age he doesn't need to, unlike SWP who could be building a case for more involvement at International level.

The lino said that as the ball had been played forward he's convinced it was handball, shouldn't him seeing Drogba handle the ball convince him it was handball?
They agreed on a decision due to circumstances not facts, that's not how I want decisions to be made.
I've got no problem with the decision by the way, it was correct:)

I have no idea if you're joking or not, but in case you havent read this thread or any sports related site on the internet (ocuk isnt the only site you know), Fulham beat Chelsea 1-0

Very gutsy effort at the end by Fulham - Malbranque played out of his skin. Hopefully this'll make the season interesting, and if we can win our game in hand then that'll make the match at Stamford Bridge all the more important as a 6 point swing could draw us level.
