If you watch the interview of the referee for the Chelsea game he states the linesman saw the handball.
When you hear it it takes on an entirely different meaning.
Had he of been quoted as saying "I went over to Paul and he told me that when the ball was played forward he was convinced there had been a handball." for instance, no problem:)

I know, that's what I'm saying.
I didn't see the interview earlier & if you read the way he was quoted it's easy to see how I got it out of context.

Edit Read the statement with the comma I've inserted:

"I went over to Paul and he told me that as the ball has been played forward [comma] he is convinced there has been a handball."

Well to be honest i read that before i saw the interview too and i didnt see a problem with it, but i guess its easy enough to interpret it the way you did.

I actually see JG's point. There's no way what with the position Knight and Drogba were in in relation to the ball that the liner could've seen it.

It really does appear that they guessed it :/

[edit]How did Helguson not get sent off? :/

Hard to tell from TV replays, but from what the ref says, it sounds like the linesman did see it, theres no way he'd flag from so far away and manage to guess the right decision...

I think it was a penalty too. So meh.

Thats nothing liverpool not getting 4 cost me £5000 ! (correct score, 5 or more goals, and liverpool to score 4)

still made £4000 on 4 or more goals and 3 first half goals though :)

i did place £200 on fulham to win, when it was 8-1 but the odds changed to 7.5 so didnt go through, so i didnt :(

Very gutsy effort at the end by Fulham - Malbranque played out of his skin. Hopefully this'll make the season interesting, and if we can win our game in hand then that'll make the match at Stamford Bridge all the more important as a 6 point swing could draw us level.

Can't see it myself, MU don't really have an easier run-in than Chelsea and I'd be suprised if they win all their games between now and the end of the season.

I actually think Utd have an easier run in. We have 6 home matches in our 9 remaining games whilst Chelsea only have 4 from their last 8.

The league is all over though. Chelsea only need to win 5 out of 7 matches and that's considering we win all of our last 9 matches!

Never going to happen! :(

Whilst its a bit more interesting thn it was a month ago,i still can't see Chelsea getting caught - mind i 'm caught between a rock and a hard place - which would be worse,Chelsea winning it or Man U catching them? :p

4th is the place that could go anywhere.I hope no -one can catch us for 3rd,but theres 4 definate contenders for 4th,and if Everton, west Ham or Wigan could put a run together then they'd be up for it too.

Don't forget 5 weeks ago Chelsea lost to Boro, and we had all this nonsense about the title race being back on then as well. Well, 5 weeks later, and the points difference is exactly the same as it was then - with MU gaining a game in hand. Chelsea have so much left in the tank that they can afford to lose the odd game, because they have established such a huge lead earlier in the season, and it's highly unlikely that their rivals will win all their remaining games.

To be honest I can't see beyond Tottenham, Arsenal or Bolton for 4th place. Blackburn are loitering but with games against Chelsea and Liverpool to come, I can't see them mounting a serious challenge. The other sides just have too much ground to make up.
