Weekly Challenge : Decay

Purple complements yellow, I thing green is orange.
Anyway :p

I like the colours of the log, personally I would up the contrast and the saturation slightly, see how it looked :)
 
i'm liking the urban decay photos. with the grafiti you can get some really decent contrast accross the image.

now.. i probably sound like i'm being a git here.. but i think the idea with it being a theme rather than a subject was so that people were free to interpret the theme how they wished. I realise that leaves and logs decay, but it would be cool if we could think a bit further into this and do something a bit different.

i think pixie gave some good examples earlier on, bubble decay for one (or tooth decay, yummy lol) either way - there is more out there than rotting wood.

and ok, mine was rotting metal.. but ive got an idea for summit different which i'm going to try out in a bit. :)
 
Great idea Pixie! It'll keep us busy between photo comp shoots!

Here is mine for now, not sure if I will have the time to get another before 9th but I will try! :p

took this one a while ago, used the black and white function on the d400, wish i hadnt! Might have looked nice in colour.

pixie thats a nice image. it's good to see a contrast of bright colours on there, oftren decay is shown with just the duller of colours; and i like the patterns on the banananana skin too.

richdog, that photo of the rope is cool. and it's another take on the theme. good work

Yeah due to the narrow focus band of the 1:1 macro lens I should have taken it further out and then cropped... silly mistake on my part.
 
How about this one - taken yesterday just along the coast from Port Royal in Jamaica. I could probably do a better job tweaking/improving once I get home, but I'm stuck using a really old version of Paint Shop Pro on the father-in-law's laptop with only a trackpad....

Actually, I've just realised it's called 'weekly challenge' :p . This means my entry is invalid since I took this photo a few months ago.
