Weekly Playstation Store Update thread

Motorhead, as in the car game??

Cant explain why but i adored this game. My only concern about purchasing ps1 stuff is down to my experience of having bought wipeout and playing it on ps3. I dont know if i did something wrong but it looked absolutely horrible. Yes i know its a very old game but it looked much worse than simply `old`.

Am i missing something in the settings that needs to be messed with ?

I`d love to grab a copy of motorhead but part of the attraction was the hyper smooth visuals and game speed, if this is anything like my experience of wipeout then surely that will kill the whole appeal of motorhead ?

No doubt im missing something blatantly obvious so please feel free to enlighten me :-)

Running on a 40" hd btw

Devil May Cry 4 Demo
MX vs ATV Demo
Fade to Black PS3/PSP - £3.49
Motorhead PS3/PSP - £3.49
Theme Hospital PS3/PSP - £3.49
PixelJunk Monsters Trailer
PixelJunk Monsters Full Game - £3.49

nice update for once.

Though i still think £3.49 is a tad too much for Theme Hospital. £2.99 or £3 feels better to me as the base price for PSN games.

Yeah it was on the PC that I played Motorhead, absolutely stunning game for its time.

I'm only getting it off PSN now because the Mrs just walked in with a Sony PSP for me (:D) so I'm thinking it won't look too bad on that.

Sorry for nit-picking, but that was up last week!

i'm well behind the times..dont think ive checked the store for 2 weeks. When i first got the ps3 i was on the store every thursday in eager anticipation of what was there... i dont really bother so much now. But that latest update seems decent. (havent got round to downloading yet!)

Played PC demo and it was awful be interesting to hear your opinions. :)

I have never owned a Conflict but enjoyed some of the desert storm demo's.

Think the last one i played was the Vietnam one and it was bad.

I'll go play it in a sec.

Josh

Just finished the demo.

Terrible framerate, looked poor/dated, poor ideas, bad controls, terrible gameplay...

Avoid...

I feel the same about Wipeout, I found it great when I had a PS1 but I never played it on the PS3/PSP as it is just awful looking, I feel Motorhead will be the same.

I still have it installed on the PC now for sentimental reasons and I feel the PS1 version will be horrible in comparison.

Motorhead was the game that was supersmooth with a 3dfx card in Glide, man I miss that time when game graphics were still exciting.

I thought Wipeout looks great on the PSP, looks awful on the PS3 though.

Japan Store update

Snakeball (full game)
Lost Planet ("online battle" demo)
Patapon (PSP demo)
Piyotama (Valentine's theme)
Motorstorm (Chinese New Year paintjob)

Lost planet is mostly in English apart from the first warning bits, but i can connect to anyone at the mo as there all in Japan, can create my own servers though.
Patapon is excellent (PSP only) wanted this game and for $20 im going to order it from the states, all in Japanese but you get the idea only a small 3 level demo but great fun.

EU Store update is up (lol)

So far there's
Turok demo (rah dinosaurs)
Sky Diving game £3.49 ( now downloading)
Lost planet trailer (demo on Japan store)

Seems a bit early so may be more coming later today.

I have just got the Sky Diving game... hmmmmm only played about half an hour not quite enjoying it yet but I will keep trying. The controls are tricky especially as I havent really got another game that takes advantage of six-axis.
