Weight Gainer Recommendations...

It did its job for me when I was working rubbish hours though so I base my info on my experience. The rest of my diet was in check, I just used Mammoth to get the extra cals/protein in during the afternoon when I couldn't take a break / leave the area or get caught with food :D

I only had one tub of the stuff, but it did the job for me at the time!

tbh, although im a proper carnivore, you dont need meat to gain, most of my protein in a day comes from eggs and whey and milk. About 20% comes from meat, some days more, but would be easy not to.

My bet is your exercise program is at fault here. You probably train too much, for too long, or with the wrong rep ranges. Where you get your protein from doesnt matter, it just matters that you GET protein!

As others have said, dont get a weight gainer, add complex carbs like fine oats into a plain whey shake, have the whey in half or even full fat milk if needed.

online reviews can be rubbish if you go by what is said on their own website.
go find a forum like muscletalk where lots of people post, ask for opinions there, much better idea from those responses as to how good it is :]

Bringing up an old thread but may I ask why? I'm about to order this and it's had some great reviews.

Just had a quick look and I'd say due to the fact each serving containes what is basically 150odd grams of quick acting sugar, ideally you want good complex carbs coming from something like oats or barley not sugars like dextrose and fructose

Right we'll I've just spoken on the phone with a guy from the thesupplementstore and it turns out mammoth with not be stocked by UK retailers anymore, he was a little sketchy on the details why and they've replaced it with 'Applied Nutrition Critical Mass' which is what I've ordered.

Let you know what it's like in the coming weeks.

I have used weight gainer (Mammoth) in the past for such situations and it's fine to use it like this - just make sure you don't start relying on it :)

I'm pretty good with my eating but there's periods in work when it's not physically possible to get a full meal in so I'll use this as a substitute and as post-workout intake.

Fair points, but as Paz says don't rely on it, and certainly make an effort to concentrate on good food first. It's not that I'm anti supps, I'd be a hypocrite if I was, it's just I like to promote healthy development and eating for people. :)
