weight loss progress

just to clarify though....

not fat as in fried fat?

GOOD fat, not BAD fat! :p

Fried fat is bad, well, worse for you, then the fat sources that icecold mentioned. If I have bacon, I tend to dry fry it, as you're not adding any extra fat to the meat that isn't already there. Eggs are very good. Good source of protein, and good fats.

As far as I know, you want more monounsaturated fats and polyunsaturated fats. Saturated fats and trans fats are the bad kind :p I wouldn't say, don't eat any. But cut it down. Sorry if this is all rubbish, and please don't flame if it is. This is my basic understanding :)

Confusingly, saturated fats are also fine. I say confusingly because much of the advice from the media/government has been to the contrary.

The problem is that foods fried in fat tend to be bad for you, much in the same way as greasy pastries are bad for you. It's not the actual fat that's bad, it's the combination of everything and also the total calories.

Trans fats are still bad though.

First time I have ever had it - how long did it last for you? I am going to see a DR on Friday, want to see if i can get some injections.

Longest episode was 2 weeks with varying intensity. I found wearing trainers rather than shoes helps a lot. Also a bit of stretching helped ease the pain at times

I guess you should say, than an excess of saturated fat is bad. Or is that still wrong? :p

Agreed, fried food is the worst. I'm definitely trying to avoid too much of that :)

:D yeah I can agree with that, but only really from a calorific point of view.

Saturated fat isn't the artery clogging devil we were told it was

Omelettes are great for breakfast, can add anything to them. I currently use corned beef and cheese

It's much easier to just scramble 3-4 eggs and have them on a slice or two of good toasted brown bread. A little bit of bread is fine.

Alternatively you could just have eggs and then also have a bowl of oats.

Scrambled egg is a winner, cut up some mushroom, use olive oil to fry them slightlyand thrown in the egg, scramble away!

Alternately boil some finely diced potatoes part cooked, dice Bacon and then whisk 3 egs up, thrown tattys and Bacon in the pan with some butter start them cooking then throw in the egg and scramble, brunch!

God I could chow on that right now, poached chicken and pasta with sweetcorn for me though :D

Awesome.

I'd say that was good inspiration. I'm trying to shed some pounds and I started in the same way, just by cutting out the junk and drink, I haven't changed my diet much yet, other than reducing my portions.

Started running a few weeks back as well and have lost 3kilos in about 3-4 weeks. Was doing it for the summer, but have started to enjoy the running so intend to carry it on :)

The best motivation is seeing the results, so I'd imagine your motivation is sky high. Keep it up !!
