the rust is on whats left of the towbar mate

the actual frame is fairly rust free

It will be okay just use the mondeo's secret weapon.

must have been scary for the driver behind though. Funny enough i had a similar experience with a 06 plate mondeo that must have been only 6 months old tops. Had a huge tire blowout in front of me with near enough half of the tire flying up and hitting my bonnet. Luckily (for him) the same thing happened to you and i had no damage.
