Weighted Blankets

I have one but really only use it in winter. I used to kick blankets off a lot. I'd wake up many times in the night cold and would have to get up and my duvet.

This solved this issue. Probably not what it's made for but I did sleep better...probably because I wasn't waking up so much!

Dis86 is right tho it is ******* disgusting and the smell makes normal people vomit.

When I tried it someone opened it indoors. This is apparently not the correct thing to do. It should be opened underwater or at a minimum outside.

When something has that requirement...it's bad.

However no, we're being culturally insensitive!

How does that work on a double bed?

One single each. I wouldn't be surprised if a lot of my wife's improved sleep was a result of not having me pull the covers off in the night.

I get quite hot in bed so it also benefits me in that my wife isn't trying to hug me in a death grip and I can have the cover just over my legs (she pulls it up to her neck).

A word on the weight of the blanket. Many companies sell a range of weights, depending on bodyweight, but it almost seems to be based more on height. I got a 6.8kg blanket for myself, even though my weight would recommend the 9kg. Reason being, is that 9kg was a larger sized blanket, so much so that per centimetre squared, it actually weighed less. I'm not a tall guy, I don't have a huge stomach that would lift the sides off the bed etc, so in fact the lighter blanket was a better fit for me. If I could have got a 9kg blanket at the same measurements, I may have done that, but 6.8 seems fine.

I only found out about these fairly recently, curious as to whether they are worth trying as I have this issue whereby I can't stand my feet poking out under the duvet when trying to go to sleep, I'll literally start clawing away with my legs to pull duvet down over my feet and get in a strop of my wife pull the duvet off them. It sounds a bit silly but I struggle to relax if my body is covered but my feet aren't.

Buy an extra long one. The one I got is about 185cm long I believe, so enough for me, but if I want to poke my feet out, easier enough to just fold it over at the top too. But the same company do one that's 203cm I believe (that's the 9kg one I was talking about).
