Weird speed camera scenario

ITT "Weird scenario"

What actually happened.

"Cop with speed camera, checking cars speed with said camera" :D

Time to wait for the green letter Rotty ;)
 
Something probably happened on the road recently so they are out as a 'show' . Most forces only report where the vans are as they will be static for the day where as the hand held can be whipped out wherever.
 
Seen this around Manchester, Birmingham and Heathrow airport perimeter roads, not an X1 but a police vehicle with officer & hand held speed gun, didn’t strike me as odd at all.
 
Was it the road that goes past TNT? If so they used to do speed checks there reasonably often when I worked there

are they normal cops? they only had a handheld device with no sign of any recording equipment
 
cheers, just odd that its not a location listed on their safety camera site and they had no recording equipment, maybe they were pulling folks at the time
 
yes, not seen a stand alone hand held for year, there always used to be other plod down the road to stop folks when they did
 
I've seen the police doing this with a handheld just round the corner from me. Single crew parked up in layby. I think it's pretty normal.
