.Well the hardest part of it all was the plastering.
Still, I don't think I've done a bad job. Obviously you can't feel it but it's so smooth!
Also rebricked the outside of the house where we had to knock through for the waste pipes.
Still, not far to go now.

Wow! I can't believe you plastered your bathroom around the shower etc, and with the floor already varnished 
Looks fantastic though! I've just finished plastering our bedroom in the attic and not only has it taken me ages, but i've got plaster trodden into the newly sanded floor! Yes, i did have polythene sheeting down, but it ripped in places 
It was my first go at plastering, and i'm going round filling all the dips and bumps with polyfilla... room is more white than pink now! ... seriously!
Still, great job you're doing there I'm doing every room in my house also, and the only one complete so far is the bathroom!

If those spots in Zone 1 above the bath are mains I hope they're IPX5

.Well, they were installed by a certified professional electrician - so one would hope soIf the lights are mains he's alright as long as they're IPX5 (would've been IPX4 if the shower hose wasn't there) and if they're SELV or PELV they're ok as the transformer must be outside any Zones

Well, they were installed by a certified professional electrician - so one would hope so
There are new(ish) regulations regarding installations and alterations in domestic properties and not all electricians are necessarily au fait with the regs (not a slight on your leccy by the way) and I assume he's going to certificate the work he's done so he'll be accountable for it, your insurance may take a different view.

Actually, it looks good, first attempt or not! I'm hoping my hallway and stairs go better... the walls are flatter so shouldn't be as tricky, and i'm going to make sure the walls are damn well sealed before i start! The worst one upstairs was an old plaster wall that i didn't seal - plaster went off in about 5 minutes! Arg, don't say that. We're verging on getting somewhere near almost resembling finishing. I don't think I could face having to redo the roof again.Those installations may be correct but they just don't look it
i would guess low voltage lighting has been used-looking good mate-keep us posted on progress!
Iv gotta say im impressed with your plastering mate. To get it to that standard on your first go and at that amount of work is quite an achievement.

Well whilst I've been cleaning the floor for another coat of varnish and attaching the side to the bath frame, the other half has been busy with the fireplace in the bedroom.
All the rooms (except the kitchen and bathroom) have these lovely victorian fireplaces in them, but the previous owner went on a painting spree and covered them up for some reason. We decided we'd strip them using a heat gun and brush, and clean them up to their original state.
To give you an idea, this is the one in the front bedroom yet to be done:
And this is the one she finished this evening:

.I'll be keeping an eye out for this thread! me and the GF bought a place last month (repossession) and it's a right mess. Ripped everything out kitchen bathroom etc, stripped down to brick/plaster board. It's hard work but we are in no rush to move in.
I know its just white walls, but if you've been following you might remember from page 1 that this wall was a covered in writing and various drawings before. It's a bit of a shame, but now it's done it actually feel like most of the upstairs is finished.
The bathroom is *almost* there - 1 more coat of floor varnish to go on, and the tiling to be done. Ceiling to be painted but we're going to leave the plastering a week or so first.
Other then that though, we're almost there with upstairs

Same to be done here - strip out, replace the floor if needed, new carpet, new wiring, stripping and polishing the fireplace and whatever else needs doing.
And we've just bought a beautiful cast iron fireplace for our front room, which we're going to have to fit soon, still it will look lovely around our fire
