Well can it run Deus Ex MD ?

Yeah, he really is starting to sound quite desperate with all this negativity he is spouting. Hey Doom112 chillout dude. Enjoy your own card, whatever that maybe (probably Nvidia) and let us poor AMD owners enjoy ours.

When a game comes out (Especially with some sort of DX12 implementation) that tends to favour AMD it does give me hope that team red are going in the right direction, whereas it tends to make Nvidia users move the goalposts or say that they wouldn't buy 'that' game anyway coz it's rubbish etc..etc..

Say what you like....in almost every game that has a hint of DX12 the AMD cards seem to come out a little better. The worm and the tide may slowly be turning. ;)

The thing is, being an AMD owner I am used to being on the end of fanboy type ridicule and losing to Nvidia cards in bench marks so having a card that isn't top of the heap in frame rates or bench marks does not bother me one iota. What does bother me is having developers who do not strive for perfection in their latest AAA title on cards from both sides of the fence.

They tend to side with one team or the other with only a few running really well on both sets of cards, which is a crying shame.
:(

DirectX 12 frame time on Radeons are much worse than DirectX 11, surprised Nvidia doing better on DirectX 12 frame time getting closer to DirectX 11 frame time.

More than anything I think it proves the underlying engine is a bit meh - even on the 1070 in DX11 it feels clumsy and ungainly at the best of times - might be hidden on a console game but only too apparent on PC.

Read the conclusion. Frame times are on the Nvidia side especially in dx12 but it's a beta build and a last gen Fury X is competing well with a gtx1070 in Dx11. If the final release has good frame times on the AMD side and AMD's performance in DX12 get's up there then no harm done. Nobody is playing this version yet.

The initial Doom Vulkan performance was not great compared to the release so things can change dramatically on the full release.

Edit:Just re-read people are actually getting this build as a beta release. Seem's like all we get these days are beta's. Money talks i guess. Wish company's would finish games before releasing as when you get to play the final version it's to late.

it is the same engine of Hitman 2016 but a bit modified.

What's truly ironic is how hypocritical he is! He's now using Computerbase benchmarks because they fit his narrative, yet not long ago he kept dismissing them because they showed AMD's performance in a positive light.

He even stated he believes they do benchmarks wrongs, and that he doesn't trust them; now he's toting them as the end all and be all of his argument.

Troll and Hypocrite.

Guys, I've been out of the PC hardware scene for years, as I don't game as much. Only play AoE2 regularly, but every Deus Ex.

Currently have i7 [email protected], 12GB ram, GIgabyte EX58-UD3R mobo and a lowly HD6900 2GB.

Just about to fire the game up, but doubt it will run well.

Any card recommendation to upgrade to? Only needs to be good enough for this game, I have not too worried about futureproofing as the whole PC is 7 years old. Let's say budget £150-£200 unless I should pay less if my existing parts will be a bottleneck.

Something like a 480/1060 will work well with this game but a bit close or above your max budget. Maybe a 390/X would be a better buy, even second hand and get your CPU overclocked to stop that being a bottleneck.

A cheap 970 would have been doable but looks like they've dried up now but the 4Gb 480 Sapphire Nitro is £199.99.

Still pricey for a 4Gb gpu in that performance segment though imo but that's what your looking at unless you buy used.

Same performance as a 970 and 8GB, £9 over budget.

RX 470 8GB

Spend the few quid extra and get the 480 8Gb.

Thanks. Will have a think about whether to get a RX470 or 480 over next few days.

Just did a benchmark on current setup and I get 14fps on high and 18fps on low - lolworthy.
