Well I fell down the custom keyboard world.

Yeah, they're working fine on my phone but not on the web. Apologies, I maybe need a crash course in how to use Imgur for posting images here!

Edit: I've tried both via the 'insert image' icon and '[img'] method and neither seem to be working but, checking the web version of Imgur, it seems to be down (?) so things might work later.

It's hard to explain. In the flesh it's really vivid, I think I was expecting it to be more muted based on the promo shots. It's not up my street now I see it, I guess.

Like I said, it's not as 'bad' as I first thought when opening it up, was just taken aback. It's all clearly well made though.

Had a pants day at work last week, and to compensate I late-night impulse-bought a Monsgeek M1 as I'd seen a few YouTubers rave about them being great value for money. Wasn't expecting it for ages, but seven days later it's arrived from China. Coincidentally another pants day at work, so I promised myself a build when I'd finished. I used all the foams but not the included "tape mod" sheet, lubed up the stabilisers (which seem OK, and include PCB pads), force breaked the case. Finished it off with some Epomaker Flamingo linears and some ultra-cheap AliExpress keycaps. I'm really impressed- Sounds lovely and feels quite premium, especially the case finish.

It probably deserves better keycaps

Oooh its ISO too! I would do ISO more often if it was cheaper but most kits i buy don't include the international kit which just increases the cost of everything.

Oh good lord, I even have the same Koi keycap somewhere :D

It works with Via, at least the web version, so I guess it's International (as you can see, I did a lot of research before buying.... not!)
Ha yes, working with Via is International. Reason I asked is I may consider it given it's ISO although I am hoping a UK supplier will get it in at some time.

Have to say though that I can feel a Keychron Q60 has my name on it...

Interested to know more..

Arriving tomorrow hopefully so will post my results in here.

On the other hand having used Honeycombs for a few weeks now, i still feel like they are inconsistent. I dont know if its the factory lubing that's causing it but the bottom out feels weird on some switches. Almost like im hitting a cushion of air. Some switches are loud where as others are rather muted so overall it gives a really inconsistent sound profile and feel.

I'm using completely stock without lubing them incase anyone is wondering. To lube these now i would have to get rid of any factory lube before i begin and i just cba tbh.

I've moved over to using L+F Blue Bubblegums (they come unlubed, or at least v1 did) and it took me a day or so but very much used to them now and like it. They're not too different from the Oil kings given they're an Ink bottom but, just enough to notice. More of a muted, marble sound.

Although I still can't get my spacebar sounding better. Probably something to do with the stabs.

Got a vide of your spacebar? Could be a number of things, including the caps themselves. What does it sound like or what is the issue with it?

@Nedb37 Geon blacks linear arrived, first impression! Super nice! They do remind me a lot of Zaku's so i can safely say they are very similar. Super smooth stock as well, so i might not lube them.

Will post a video later of them installed on the RE65.

A little rattly? Less deep than the rest of the keys? Hard to explain. I'll see about a video.

Hmm rattly does sound like stabs but at the same time it could be the spacebar. Have you tried tape modding your spacebar or adding a little bit of EVA foam? Might be reverb that you're hearing.

Also, conclusion of the Geon Blacks, absolutely lovely! Silky smooth and consistent throughout as expected. Really love these switches! My only gripe is the spring is a touch light, im considering putting in some 68g sprit springs to compensate for this. I tried some 78g sprit springs i have but its way too heavy. Tried a CJ spring but its not quite there either but does feel abit heavier despite them being the same bottom out force. Probably more to do with the fact that Geon blacks are Dual stage springs.
