Well I fell down the custom keyboard world.

I'm coming to the conclusion that if you're a tactile lover, then linears just don't cut it. I splashed out on some Oil Kings and don't get me wrong, they're nice and all, sound good, and are truly super smooth, albeit more wobbly than I expected, but they still feel super light to my (terrible) typing technique.

So a question to linear lovers- can you reccommend any available/in-stock linears with a satisfying heavy feel?
I'm very new to this keyboard malarkey so take this with a pinch of salt, plus also it's not answering your question anyway :-)

I thought I was linear only but then I bought some Gazzew U4TX and really liked them so thought I'd try some full tactiles so bought some U4T and really, really like those. I needed more switches so tried the Wuque Studios Heavy Tactile and they are really nice too but I think I prefer the U4T but that might be due to the board they're in and, to be fair, I really CBA to swap across the whole lot to test. I will need more too for the Zoom 75 I ordered and I'm struggling now to get past tactiles and there are a few that I'm thinking about.
My point? It will be interesting to hear what responses you get for "heavy" linears....

I think it maybe more that you are probably missing the tactile bump which you don't get with a linear switch, so you are expecting that little bit of extra feedback from the switch.

If you are happy with the oil kings and it is just that they feel too light then you might want to try spring swapping them with say 75g, 80g or 90g+ springs.

Personally I have been very happy with a 63/67g spring (double stage) in my switches that feels like the sweet spot for me

But in other news I finally received a couple of boards today my CruelWorld CW88's finally arrived and they are simply stunning. The anno is so clean and they just feel so nice. Will try and add some of my potato style photo's later (they simply don't do the boards justice)

You've missed out on Zoom75 but what about a white Q1? I would suggest a Monsgeek M1 as I like mine a bit better than the Q1s but they stopped making it in white.

Well, I 'kinda wish I'd gone in for the QK80 (although more for looks than anything, unsure how good it is??). I prefer TKL for a balance between work/play.

Will keep an eye out for any more TKL releases on the horizon. I have the ZoomTKL on order but really not convinced the Shashin Keycaps will work with it (I went for Cool Grey and the GMK caps are darker than I expected).

I still count myself as a tactile lover, but I swapped my Oil Kings into my Epomaker TH80 with some SA Keycaps and I'm really enjoying the sound and feel. As mentioned above, with some heavier springs in them I reckon they might be even better. Just need to find some.

I had a good experience with Epomaker Budgerigar tactiles, so I ordered another budget board (GMMK TKL) and some Epomaker Flamingoes to experiment a little further. Because buying boards is easier than swapping switches :D

Also found out that the store Keycrox is under 10 minutes walk away from me. Danger.

RE65 Aluminium edition has come in! The copper weight is nice, i like how rough it is, never been a fan of the coated weights tbh. I'd imagine this might even start to patina at some point to give me some different textures.

Built with Zaku II's and GMK Striker R2, went with TX AP stabilisers and i highly recommend them! Tolerances are great.

ZoomTKL arrived. No real issues with the case, colour is fine but wow, the glass backplates with the gradients are really not that great (imo).

Shame, taken the shine off it for me.

Got a pic of it? Kinda instrigued at how bad it is.

This is the promo vs reality (best pic I could get really) and with fresh eyes in the morning, it's actually not as bad as I first thought? It's much more intense than I assumed it would be I think. Probably would have just gone with they Grey one for the Cool Grey frame, or a plain mirror.

I do think I need some keycaps that are generally white though given how bright the colour is.
