Well I fell down the custom keyboard world.

While I have bought dupe caps previously, I have our purchased a few Gmk sets, despite the price I feel they add to the overall feel & sound of the keyboard.

Really like those chemical caps

On the sales page there is this mock up on a split keyboard, that is also silver too.

I decided to store all my keycaps in bags as they take up much less room. I'm now left with a whole boxfull of keycap trays. Seems a shame to recycle them, so if anyone wants them, let me know (I'll send for free)

My initial impression, this is a completely stock board, PC plate, VERY bouncy and a lot of flex. Even pressing down on the volume knob to mute causes the entire board to flex and that is on the corner. It is very quiet, and I must say it does not sounds as good as my Q1 with an All plate, I much prefer the sound of that a lot more. I think at home I just want more noise so I might use this at work. Typing feel with these keycaps is nice, lovely matt texture.

Happy with my tecware phantom with brown keys, just ordered 100 akko purple jellys. Only paid £30 for the keyboard, £20 for the caps.

Just looking for some PBT double shot keycaps but finding one with

UK layout
shine through
ISO
3/£ key etc

is difficult.

Okay, fixed the Q2 Pro's sound profile and feel.

3 layers of masking tape and added some a few by the screws for force break mod but there's already lots of rubbers in those places so wasn't 100% necessary.

The sound has now gone pretty similar to my Q1 but the Q1 is slightly more marble like due to the Aluminium plate.

Slowly learning what I like, the space underneath with the PC plate made for a too bouncy feel and hollow sound profile with a linear switch. A soft tactile with more foam, chef's kiss !

2 layers of "foam" that you get in monitor packaging.

Using my current favourite Nuphy Lemon switches.

My Cyan gradient keycaps arrived from China yesterday, so I started swapping them over from the blue/white gradients I tried first...

Also noticed a huge difference in the light diffusion between the stock Rouge Axis switches and the Leobog Reapers:

Desk looking much cleaner and suits my colour scheme far better...

(Excuse the dust - been working flat out for weeks!)

I picked up a grey/green gradient set, too. But they appear far more grey than green, so I think I'll save these for the black Monsgeek M1V5 that's on it's way...

And since the Wife stole my old powerbank to take to Mallorca with her, I pounced on the discounted Anker 165W, 25,000mAH:

Spending a lot of time at the hospital with two of my children, so it'll get plenty of use - particularly since we use Apollo/Artemis to play our PCs from our tablets.

Ok, few posts a long time coming.

I finally built a couple more boards this weekend so, time to share some bad pictures of the boards I've bought over the last year or so.

First up, the Cycle7!

Void Elf Purple with Purple PVD weight
PC Plate
Black Lotus Switches
GMK Nerve Caps

I have one more left to build, the Cycle8 in Crow Black. Thinking of using GMK Infernal Caps on it.

Huge fan of the Cycle7, use it daily. Love the layout and the bang for buck is insane.

My bargain Akko Creamy Yellow switches arrived today:

Will swap them over at some point (currently using lighter, linear Leobog Reapers) and see what I prefer.
Managed to nab them for £5.99 a box (90 switches = £12).
