Well I fell down the custom keyboard world.

Nice! I am awaiting mine from the vendor which should hopefully be any day now.... Have some Aqua Kings and KKB Pandora Keycaps in waiting!
Which batch/vendor did you order from? I went with Divinikeys as I'd had some good luck with them in the past - but it was around 4/5 months from ordering to everything being delivered!

Interested to hear how the Aqua Kings are!

I went with Proto as i bought a Neo 80 from them for my gf which was my first build (also with Aqua Kings and a set of PBTFans WOB Keycaps). Whilst i am down with lubing stabs, lubing and potentially filming switches is something i would want to experiment with before having a go, and the Aquas are decent enough from the factory so to speak.

Proto are a great UK vendor, I get quite a few things from them.

And yeah, completely get what you mean about wanting to experiment with lubing/filming switches before putting them into a board. I also find that only certain switches need switch films, I do think the majority of switches will benefit from your own lube vs. factory lube but the availability and quality we have now vs. a few years ago is great and it's mostly down to personal preference in terms of feel and noise.

Neo75 has been lovely to use for the past few days, tempted to swap away from split backspace and go for a more traditional backspace structure with 'Delete' replacing 'Print' in my fair right stack. I've used it for gaming as well the last few nights which I wasn't really planning to do but it's actually been great! Not as immediately responsive compared to the Wooting but the sound & feel is leagues above.

Anything competitive I'll still swap to the Wooting board but for now I'm pretty happy keeping the Neo on my desk as my main board.

Given i was using a side turned TKL for gaming which is having issues with key presses (i suspect it is the pcb as it is affecting multiple switches at different times) then this should be a night and day improvement. I will also be changing the Print to Del as i do use that quite frequently!

I currently use a Lofree flow 84 but am looking for a second keyboard to buy as I look switching 2 keyboards up as I do a lot of typing as well due to my job. thinking of going for an Aula F75 or Yunzii AL68 and trying a creamy switch, any recommendations?

I was in a store in HK and they have some keyboard on display, tried a Nuphy Obsidian Black keyboard with Lemon Switches and immediately loved the feel and sound of them. So much more thock than the Milky Yellows and Oil Kings that I have, ordered some online immediately to try it in mine.

Finally got around to building the Neo75cu the other week! PP plate, stock stabs, Everglide Aqua King switches and topped off with KKB Pandora keycap set! It is quite a weighty keyboard, and is a joy to type on!

Looks great... but is that TAB key on upsidedown? If the angle works for you then it's all good, but it's giving me the ick! :P

Does anyone have any double-shot PBT keycaps they can recommend for my Nuphy Halo65?

I want/need a new set. I've considered ordering these https://nuphy.com/collections/keycaps/products/wob-bow-nsa

Edit: Budget of £30 to £40 if possible.
Are you specifically looking for nSA profile? (or mSA as the board appears to come with as standard)
Otherwise I'm pretty happy with the no-brand set I got from the usual place for all things (was £22 on offer for a 173 key set inclusing all the UK/ISO variants)

Oh good point, I think I’d rather get the mSA profile then.

I’ll check out said generic set.

Got the Nuphy Yellow, it turns out from the plastic tin that it comes in that it is made by Gateron, for Nuphy....I also didn't read the small print that it is tactile instead of linear. The memory of the thock last week still lingers in my mind so I have put them in my KB to give these a try.

Typing on it now currently, my feeling is that they are slightly more weighty than the Milky Yellow, in THIS keyboard, a Keychron Q1 (with tape and force mod) it sounds less thocky than what I remember but it is more marble than the Milky yellow. I don't mind the tactile feel either and the RGB is less intense through these switches than the Milky yellow.

I got the Cycle8 recently, overall the build was really straight forward apart from the fiddly ribbon cable. GMK Mecha, CS Ghost dragon linears and staebies, used all the foam and it still maintains a lovely clack.
GMK Mecha look lovely in that build, really nice choice.

What are the option these days for a keyboard that fits this criteria

1 - Mac/Win physical switch
2 - Metal build
3 - Swappable switches
4 - Knob
5 - 65 or 75%

Fantech Maxfit6 ticks most of the boxes except it is plastic I think being it is only 600g. Rainy75 looks nice but no Mac/Win switch, I don't want to get another Keychron again as they are quite expensive for the money these days and I am not sure they are worth the up charge.

Lubed the stalisers in my Q1, with the new Lemon switches and OMG, I think i found the sound I have been looking for. It does come at a hefty cost though from all the experimenting with switches lol
