Well I fell down the custom keyboard world.

Keychron K2 HE delivered today and the Logi G Pro X I bought from Amazon a couple weeks back is getting returned. The quality difference in them isn't even comparable in terms of feel and sound, guess I still had that old idea that logitech gaming stuff is good, especially after recently getting the MX Keys for work (it's a very open office and quiet keyboards are basically a requirement!)

Logitech or most of these main hardware brands don't compare to specialist keyboard makers and Keychron isn't even the peak. It's solid but there are nicer ones but they cost substantially more.

Totally agree with you, Raymond. I must have like 15 odd keyboards, from the likes of Logitech, Razor, Corsair, Keychron, and they don't compare to the smaller brands (Some of the Keychron`s are not too bad, the Q6 max is nice to type on). My recent purchases were the K2 HE, Logi G Pro 60 X, and Air75 v3. The K2 HE is nice, the Logi is pants and the Air75 is amazing. Also awaiting delivery on a Magi 75 Pro.

The Magi60 I have feels like Marbles. Even my "cheap" numpad feels great. You know i got the switches and keycaps combination right when I handed the numpad to my 8 & 10 year old nieces to just press the buttons, they love the feel of it so much that they just had it on their lap taking turns just to press the keys for the sound and feedback of it.

Hello everyone. With my current keyboard on its way out after a decade of service, I’m looking of jumping into the custom keyboard world.

Currently eyeing up the Akko 5075b barebones (I believe that is the version that supports VIA).

Does anyone have some recommendations on switches to get or what companies to consider getting switches from? Last time I looked it was all about cherry but now it seems like things have changed. Preferably want something quiet, my current keyboard is cherry browns so the same amount of force would be good.

Have a look at gateron yellow switches, quiet and linear, possibly a little heavier than browns
