Didn't even get in the front door, from the outside it looked nice and the estate agent pictures inside looked ok. Would be perfect for me but when i turned up I saw two teenagers sitting outside next door, then three kids came out their front door only for each one to start throwing things at each other and kicking the ball at cars. Finally another kid came back with shopping only to be told " where the **** have you been little **** " by one of the brothers.

Has anyone here looked at flats and been instantly put off by the area?

When we were looking to buy a few years ago we saw a nice looking house, arranged a viewing but went for a drive to go look at it beforehand just from the outside.

As we drove up we could then see that right next to it was a whacking great big electricity pylon, so we called the agent and cancelled the viewing :)

Thank god for Street View today, saves a lot of wasted effort like this!

sounds like my neighbours who moved in a year ago..

one is around 17-18 and acts like a 15year old and probably will never have a job.. usually they play football in their garden and whenever the fat older yob does something to make the two younger ones cry he will shout how they are puffters at the top of his voice and other stuff

they are actually his sisters kids but for some reason the grand parents have raised them most likely because their actual mother is a smack head or something

went to look at a new house a few years back, waiting outside for a cab after the viewing, only to be told to go **** ourselfs by some local *insert choice expletives* whilst they drove past us......... we didn't take the house lol

Is quite funny thinking back on it :)

Ended up in the same area but in what is arguably the best road on the esates there (the 'estate' as I'd call it is made up of abotu 3 little ones) so at least ended up with a much better house :)

i don't even see a problem with that pylon :o

better than having another house there that could have horrors living in it and none of the windows face it

I went to look at a house and didn't even make it to the road it was in. The surrounding roads were enough to put me off.

of course, went to see a flat at west norwood only to see a gang (proper gang) of youths sitting right outside with their pit bulls and all that.

didnt even bother to view.
