I did read the article. They want to make part of park that was previously free to use, a paid for/appointment based area.

I think it is just a slippery slope towards councils thinking they can do this everywhere and end up segregating parks into paid for areas for dogs and banning them from the free bits etc.

We have private dog walking fields here too, a space where people can let the dogs of the lead in a safe environment.
Wouldn't surprise me if councils want to get in on the idea, they are always looking for ways to fleece people make some more cash.

That is how it works in this country, even if the majority do not want it.
They start off implementing something small, in one area, then it expands.

TBH I think this is the sort of nonsense which would only work in London.

If they start using up urban green spaces and countryside to become a pay as you go space that would suck.
