West Mids get together

Don't blame us, thank us :p

Just remember you're going to have problems with warranty on obvious stuff. Bluefinn is good as it is reversible.

Cheers mate, i'll do some digging and come to you lot for some advice, as you are pretty big modders, as i basically know nothing ! :)

Cool mate, thanks.

Any idea on any place's / forums for more info, I blame Drex merlin and Si for this.... :@ :P

I'd strongly suggest you talk to Tony McQuire up at Pumaspeed mate, the number is 01924 871 421. Not many of the guys on ffoc.co.uk have started modding them seriously yet, but Tony knows his stuff (he and James up there look after my beastie). Tell him that John Kelly put you on to him, I'm fishing for a discount ;)

Looks like the meet is going to cost you a few grand then Andy.

They do that to you. :)

LOL, I'm already pricing up water-injection and bigger seconary injectors so I can run more boost.

Oh, and some new hose connectors :o

Bluefin is next on the list for me, they have a cracking rep for fords, especially the turbo versions. Plugs into the diag port under the steering wheel and can be removed when you need to get any warranty work done. The bluefin is the remap I was thinking of as part of the £1200 in my earlier post. You just need to be careful, they come in various flavours, i.e. Decat, catalyst etc. If you buy the catalyst version then you'll be charged extra if you turn around and say you want the decat version later on.

It a good starting place too ? Idealy i'd like a bit more boost, a lot more noise, and would benefit with more airflow :)

Yup, i think it would be a really good place to start. The RS version raises the torque limit in 1st and second, increases the boost and improves the curves. It also has the added benefit of being "invisible" as far as the warranty is concerned - you just remove it before it goes into the garage :p

To improve the noise you'll need to look at the exhaust/air filter. I'd recommend the Milltek systems for the exhaust/decat/sports cat (their build quality is better than the other ususal aftermarket makers for Ford). Air filters are a matter of choice, the K&N genII kit seems to be popular (although I've heard of build quality issues). A K&N panel filter will give 70% of the performance for 25% of the price (It's what I've got).

Yeah definately start with a Bluefin. As Goliath says, its handy for warranty stuff too. A replacement panel filter would also be a good idea, again easy to swap back over to.

The Volvo engine in the Focus STs have weak conrods apparently and the turbo is much smaller than that used in volvo units. Im not sure how much space there would be for a bigger turbo + seperate manifold.

Bluefins do seem very good, I like the sounds of the BMW Mini one versions, £299 gets you 130hp up from 90hp. :)

Yeah, I've met El a number of times, and if he says he'll be somewhere, he'll be there... unless he has something urgent to attend to :)

Glad you had fun though guys. Maybe in a year or two I'll be there ;) :p

Anyone get any videos of these random people racing about the roads?
