Western Digital WD800 question

does this look ok? i think it should be a lot higher! any ways that i can inprove this? settings in BIOS/windows etc?

the HDD is a western digital sata drive - WD800JD

Speeds look fine although it's running in SATA1 mode rather than the SATA2 mode it's capable of. Setting it to SATA2 will only improve the burst transfer rate though, the sustained transfer shown on the graph will remain the same.
 
WD drives have a jumper on the back to set them to run at SATA-1 but this normally isn't enabled when the drive comes from the manufacturer.

It's worth checking through device manager to see if the SATA controller is a) capable of SATA2 and b) set to run at SATA2.

SATA 2 does actually make a difference?
My main SATA 2 drive is on my SATA 1 controller rather than my SATA 2 controller...guess I should change it :o

how do i go about doing that?

i thought all the ports on the Asus P5B are sata 2
