wet graphocs card

same thing happened to me with my coolit cpu cooler,liquid leaked out all other my gpu and mother board,my gpu was ok.but my motherboard was fried, emailed coolit support and got no compensation ,so from now on its air only.
 
Defo try and push for more, or get them to buy you a MSI Gaming Edition R9 290x like you had and send it to you with the other replacement.

That's because it was Coolit though. They produce the worst coolers ever and their customer support is abysmal. Even though I don't like Corsair I have to admit that they have a good policy about compensating when one of their water coolers leak.
 
my problem is I bought the msi 290x off another forum, it was a brand new replacement for a faulty 7990 but I have no invoice and the seller thinks he put it in the box when he sent it to me but there was no invoice and ive not heard from the seller again.

so if I push corsair for more and they ask for the invoice as proof ive got nothing also I paid £300 for it so my loss is about £65 not really the end of the world so im thinking take the $400 and put it down to experience
 
Pleased to hear that you got a result, even it is slightly under what you need for a replacement.

Just a thought for all those who originally said AIO coolers gah, use a custom loop instead. good luck getting any compensation from your custom loop manufacturer, do you send the claim to the tubing maker or the fittings supplier. :rolleyes:

Of course saying all that I have a custom loop in my rig so ill shut up now.... :D

Ah no so bad then since you bought it used, if you had bought it new when they were £450 or so then that would have stung a lot more!
 
Will $400 get you the same card in the US is that where they got the figure from ?

If so ask them to replace the card and send it with the replacement cooler :)

A few people are like that though, my brother being one of them. It may be a slim chance but its still the thought of water being near it turns people off it.

Ditto ! - risc vs no risc, it's simple as that. That's why I in my main rigs never is going to have H2O, while my second rig does have a CM Seidon 120XL since I can cope if that rig would fail.
 
Don't know if they have the right to keep it under all the laws, if it works then you've got a nice crossfire

Sorry to hear that mate,I lost my sound card similar way this year.(loose tubing)
