Wetherspoon general discussion.

carpets I can mostly deal with, my shoes don't overly care.. but what is it about the tables.. if you go in a weatherspoons after it's been open a while every single table is sticky as... no idea if that's true when they first open, never been in one that early..

Probably the disinfectant they use slightly melting the varnish on the tables.

I've been to some good quality restaurants that also suffer from the wiped table that remains sticky afterwards.

Not being French polisher type, I suspect the tables need taking back and treating before applying a new coat.

Been to Spoons in Primrose Valley, always come for breakfast when here as it’s just cost me £9.09 for large breakfast and refillable tea with my owners card, can’t fault it for that price

I'm a bit pee'd off, we're in Tenby on another coach holiday, also been to St Davids and Saundersfoot with no Wetherspoon in sight. We're going to Fishguard and Cardigan and i believe none there either.
What's up with the Welsh?

They're in Carmarthen and there's a few in Swansea. I don't know how many depots Wetherspoons have. But basically a lorry driver can only do 9 hours of driving in a shift, the only way round that is either send two drivers or keep the lorry out overnight. So they won't have branches more then 4.5 hours from their depot.

There are 4 in Cardiff and I visited them all, the one by the Bay is really nice.
We watched a waitress drop 4 meals to the ground when a Gull attacked her :)

We ordered food to an outside table at the Gloucester Docks branch, and then got our order changed to indoor when we saw the gulls swoop in after someone left. They don't take any prisoners!!

I was in that one about two years ago, we couldn't get out because it hammered it down for hours.
Never mind extra Guinness.

Daddy Daughter Wetherspoon's breakfast this morning. On the way there are a number of cafes all would cost about double for the same food.
Traditional Breakfast, Small Breakfast and an unlimited coffee (I usually have 3) about £10 you just can't beat it, lovely and quiet at 8am as well.

Excellent stuff. Enjoy.

It's stupidly cheap, especially when you factor in the bottomless coffee. I often need a 2nd coffee. Two coffees is most places is more then 2 coffees and a breakfast in Spoons.

Wetherspoons closed 1 in Edinburgh but are opening another 2 at Chambers Street and Fountain Park.
My first job was on chamber street at the old dental hospital. Right next door to where spoons will be. It was called beluga back then. Place did an amazing mash, sausage and onion gravy. That spot should do well for them. They also got the old bingo hall on south bridge but for some reason it’s been delayed maybe 3-4 years now.

Was in Sheffield early dropping car in for a recall, so popped into Spoons in Meadowhall for a brekkie. No where near as good as I remember them to be - for the same price my local café is miles better.

Its always been mid, but its the same everywhere you go.

Your local cafe is very cheap compared to mine if its doing a full breakfast for £7 ish.

It's just a shame their mugs are rather small, I feel like 2x coffees is probably only a medium.

Also how annoying is it when multiple coffee machines are out, we were at one a couple of weekends ago for breakfast and 2/3 machines were out of action. Pretty much had a permanent queue of 10-15 people queuing for the machine.

My local spoons is fairly small, so it's not too hard to be sat near the machine. The trouble with a comedy Costa bucket is it's often cold by the time you've finished it.

popped into one the other day, needed to use the bathroom which was upstairs whist walking up the stairs i was surprised to see someone had not made to the toilet and had dropped a deuce on one of the steps, how the hell did they get it out and drop it there

Anyone know why spoons (the two I've been to anyhow) in Heathrow don't have Eggs Benedict? Best breakfast they do and there never in there.
