What 15" Tyres?

My local tyre place offered me some "Apollo Accelere Winter" tyres for cheap. I decided against it because.. Indian tyres, but they're probably ok.

I bet in reality in anything other than actual snow a half decent summer tyre would have better performance irrespective of temperature. The idea that all tyres are the same and split into either a 'winter' group or a 'summer' group is fast becoming frustrating.

The big difference with winter tyres is the tyre compound and the addition of sipes into the tread, so with that in mind there is a winter vs non-winter tyre separation. Compound is hard to determine by eye but sipes are obvious and without them it's not a winter tyre.

The Op seems to be looking for more budget oriented tyres that aren't actually Linglongs, so a choice of a half decent winter tyre vs a half decent summer tyre, not a half decent tyre vs a set of Eagle F1s, hence the suggestion. Winter tyres are fine in summer, they just wear rapidly but that's not a problem if the car is getting sold, and keeps the OPs partner safer in the meantime.

Also I know that at least one UK tyre shop actually has the damn things in stock, which is more than can be said for Nokians right now. Apparently they're owned by Vredestein anyway.

Guys, don't confuse the KH31 with the KU31. Different compound.

KU31 always seem to do OK in reviews and are well priced. I just bought a pair and am pleased with them.

KH31, no idea.

As you're selling the car I'd suggest Uniroyal Rainmasters as they can be had for less than 40 quid a corner & still having a sexy looking tread pattern, I run them on my old Polo & they grip in wet & dry.

Stick some cheapish winterish tyres on then, if it's being sold in the summer, not your problem if the new owner wears through their tyres really quickly in the heat.

Cheap winter tyres will be absolutely lethal in the wet.

OP: I'd go with ContiPremiumContacts.
So what if you're selling in 6 months? 6 months is still 6 months worth of driving :p
