What 49" 4K HDR TV - Now stuck!

Xe9005 is also cheap at PRC direct... £949 including 5 years warranty and it looks like an additional £50 off - £899

Still a little too high for me at the moment as bank balancen is low until next month

If it's the UJ635V (which seems to be the only 635v google finds) then unfortunately yes it is an RGBW Panel and its 8-Bit + FRC. But then that also shows as an IPS screen as well.

That is my tv. It lists mva and rgb. It's the only reason I bought it, I didn't care for 10 bit hdr.

Ended up getting a cracking price through Argos £420, snapped it up

Very close to pulling the trigger on the 55MU7000 for £700. Just trying to decide how to make it work in the space.

I've also been looking for a new TV in this price range. Originally was looking at the SAMSUNG UE50MU6120 for around £400 as it seemed like a great price & decent tv. Now I've looked at a few more reviews and upped my budget, looks like I'm between the 49MU7000 and the Hisense 55N6800 which I should be able to get for around £630. Any major difference in the 55/49 MU7000 or just personal preference?

A few reviews I read mentioned a lightbleed issue with the MU7000 which put me off slightly. The Hisense H55N6800 seems to be regarded as very good value for money although it's not a brand I'm familiar with it seems to get very positive reviews.

The 49 is 50Hz and 8Bit+FRC, the 55 is 100Hz and 10Bit. So two big differences and considering the £50 difference between the two it makes it an obvious upgrade to go for if you can.

Waiting for John Lewis to reply to my price match email at the moment, and reading more and more reviews on the MU7000 and most say it is good, but that the XS9005 from Sony whilst more money is the one to go for if you can and on that the 49 and 55 are not different like on the MU7000. But considering the offers on the Samsung at the moment making it £700 for the 55" compared to £950 for the 49" Sony it is a hard change to go for.

This just again leaves me pulling what little hair I have left out!!

I know it's painful isn't it! I'm fairly fixed on the xe9005, with the Panasonic 750B coming close second. I've heard the 49" Mu7000 has too many little shortfalls for my personal wants, the 55" would be better, but I can't go that big!

Yep, I have also ruled out the 49"MU7000 due to the issues I put above. I have had JL price match on the 55" version, but still cannot make myself do it. The XE9005 keeps pulling me back but I really do not want to spend almost a grand, when I paid £530 for my current one 3 years ago. Whilst I know that right now whichever TV I bought (even something down at the £500 mark) it would look good with my sources, over the next twelve months I don't want to maybe change a source device and end up disappointed.

MU7000 65" is at £1099 now and the MU9000 65" is at £1199 on a certain sellers site that can be used to price match with a famous high street seller that does 5 year warranties.

Id pay a grand for a 49" but don't think id want a sony with it been Android. Id rather want a Smart TV or OLED if they went to 49". I was looking at the LG800V which gets great reviews and great viewing Angles but very poor blacks. Think im going to wait out until later in the year and see what Samsung Bring out.2017 hasn't been a great year for Samsung like last year with the KS7000 and the KS range. But im in no rush im still more then happy with the H6400

LG800V is RGBW Panel. The 850V is the first to be a true RGB panel, but that only starts at 55" for £800.

Definitely save yourself the pain and avoid the LG SJ800 series. I have seen them all in person and they have terrible uniformity issues. Every single one I looked at had bad clouding which was even worse once HDR content was playing. Like the Samsung range, LG's models from last year performed better in lots of ways. The only Samsung that compares to the KS series from last year for about a grand is the MU8000 - which is the 'MU9000' on the RTINGS site.

So you can now get a KD49XE9005 for £824. Sold by Richer Sounds on ebay but they list it as refurbished and without the extended warranty of new, or for £874 with 5 year warranty from Currys on ebay using code PNY2018.

HHhhmm and 3% on TCB today as well, which should net another £25ish

Hmm is the Sony going to get any cheaper do you think? Hitting £750 would do it for me but I'm not sure if that's at all likely before it gets withdrawn!

Honestly not sure. It might go that low springtime sales as Sony usually go April-June for new releases. You have until 6pm to decide.

I put off buying a new tv this time last year but now I'm definitely looking to upgrade my 42" Panasonic Plasma but there's so many to choose from! 50" is the biggest I'd like to go cos of the space in my living room, price-wise I could go up to £900 at a pinch. After reading through this thread I quite like the look of the Panasonic 50EX750B especially as it's got freesat built in. If I can record on that it would be even better as I could get rid of my freesat recorder. Freesat recording is not a must have but it would be nice.
