What 4k monitor would you recommend to go with the gtx 1080 ti

Thanks to the high dpi games look vastly better. Thanks to higher resolution you can see more in the virtual distance - this is particularly noticeable in games with sniper rifles or binoculars. Thanks to both you need fewer performance-sapping technologies like anti-aliasing.
What do sniper rifles and binoculars affect?

I think buying a 4K monitor right now is not a good idea. We need to find if the new Nvidia cards have HDMI 2.1 and thus VRR. If they do, then await HDMI 2.1 4K monitors.

Budget would be around £700 but dont mind going a little over. what size should i go with, the bigger the better but im not bothered with wide screen (or curved) would 1440p be a better option?

I have the Acer XR382CQK, it’s a 37.5” curved ultrawide monitor with a 3840x1600 resolution and Freesync and a 75Hz refresh rate. If you keep an eye out you can find it for £800 or so but make sure you get the newer version with speakers. For productivity tasks it’s amazing as you scan split the screen, connect multiple computers at once, and gaming in ultrawide is really immersive. It’s the same panel as the more expensive LG38UC99 which sells for much more.

Because it’s only about 75% of the pixels of a 4K monitor it’s easier to get higher frame rates than a 4K monitor. Most affordable 4K monitors are limited to 60Hz and even a RTX2080ti will still probably struggle to get that in AAA games at 60fps with Ultra settings.

Yes that’s the one although the model to look for is the UM.TX2EE.009 and at that price it’s an even better bargain, I got mine when another e-tailer price matched the older UM.TX2EE.005 at £800 and I thought that was a bargain. As it’s a big ticket item make sure you read as many professional reviews as possible. It’s FreeSync range is 48-75Hz which is slightly better than the LG38UC99.
