What a **** (Delivery Driver)

Just make a complaint. No need to go guns blazing or suggest you think he was trying to steal or whatever. Just tell it how it was and they will draw their own conclusions.

I wouldn't ignore it though. Theft or laziness or whatever the reason - It may have been the first time you caught them but it likely wont be the first time they have done that and if you let it slide, it wont likely be the last.

I understand that but while your there why not deliver the parcel? probably be quicker then writing out the card.

I guess he was too lazy to lift the large parcel out. And he knew another driver would be down to attempt the re-delivery

I was on my way to work so that's why no updates and I've just helped my mate put the PA in his estate.
Obviously I either had to go to Facebook or OCUK but OCUK is worse than Facebook for stuff like this.

No he wasn't apologetic because he said he'd knocked and rang so I pointed at my camera on the door and I just gave a roll eyes (that's the worserest thing you can do obvs).
My mate has got his stuff so he's happy.

Our DPD dude got stabbed last week while on his rounds so tip one out for the plight of the dpds

Now you mention it I'm surprised you don't hear more of this sort of thing, I bet there's a fair few grands worth of stuff on a DPD van that could easily be sold down the pub or at car boots these days.

Delivery driving is a pretty horrible job by all accounts, and they are up against it so there may be some idiotic reason why it’s preferable for him to drive round delivering LOL-NOT-IN cards. It won’t change if everyone just puts up with it though... so I’d complain if I were you.

Maybe he doesn't like you very much, my postman actually delivered a parcel to me that was addressed to where we used to live on the next street because I'm such a top bloke

Maybe he doesn't like you very much

First time I've seen him.
One thing is though, I wouldn't have their job so that's why I didn't argue.
I watched a fly on the wall documentary about delivery drivers and an 8 hour day easily turns into a 12 hour day.

On threads like this it would be interesting to know what job the people do that **** off the driver - probably jobs that don't affect the ordinary person - Estate Agent's - Lawyers - Bankers - Financiers - Vet's -Car dealers - builders - and loads more I can't think of.
We had a parcel today delivered by Hermes - opened it up and glass was smashed - It was a large picture - It was same guy we always have and he has been brilliant - So do I blame him - it could have been broken as soon as it left John Lewis - in fact I shook it in jest to see if it rattled when I signed for it - didn't hear anything but glass was broken.

ps - I am retired

pps God knows what the star word was ?? Ah It's showing now and it's not a swear word -

Eh? Jobs that don’t affect the ordinary person? What are you talking about?

I'm curious, when you opened the door and challenged him, what were your expectations? were you expecting the chap to go 'fair cop guv'nor, the boxes were too heavy and I couldn't be arsed hauling them all the way up here'??

Tbh, I don't know what I would have expected. But if he'd said this, I'd have burst out laughing

Sorry Vonhelmet - English sense of humour and irony doesn't translate to German - if you are indeed German - :D:D:D:D:):):):):p:p:p:p:cool::cool::cool::cool: notice loads of smilies and stuff - perhaps you are a ********* generation.

ps sleetflake

I’m not German, and you’re still incoherent. I don’t understand what you’re saying. You appear to be attempting to slight those who would criticise the delivery driver, but it’s not clear.

What did he say when you collared him? I had one do this some time back and he stood there arguing that I was lying and that he had knocked on two or three times. The truth tough is he pulled up, wrote the card in the van and didn't even attempt to knock on. **** soon changed his tune when I pointed to the CCTV camera and asked if he'd like to review the footage. Anyhow, I put an official complaint in with his company and made it known that I, as a customer, didn't like to be argued with and called a liar by one of their employees who couldn't even be bothered to do the job. Dunno what happened after that though.
